Im am ordering a spinning reel from bps and have narrowed it down to a Shimano Sahara and a Pflueger President. What do you guys prefer? Which do you think is better? Which will hold up better? Thanks for all the help in advance.

I would definitely go with the Shimano. I believe it has more bearings, so it will feel alot smoother than the President. A friend of mine owned a President for about a month -- he hated it!
Shimano makes a superior product, so I think you will get better quality and longevity with the Sahara. Just make sure you get the Sahara with the revised spool lip -- it will give you longer casts and less line twist.:D
I think the shimano has fewer bearings than a president but they are supposed to be a higher quality I have a president and I havent had any problems with it in over three years its as smooth as it was the day I bought it I have a shimano also that I really like I think the president is a better buy nut thats just my opinion...
i have three of the presidents and i love them they are smooth and can handle good fish it is a great deal and a great reel. just my thoughts. i have two on extreem rods and one on a johnny morris all three set ups get the job done.
Thanks for the help. I ordered the sahara. Now the next question-what is a good rod to pair it with and not break the bank?
Ive got a Sahara on a BPS 7' MA Bionic rod. Works good for me and didnt have to take out a loan to make the purchase.
St Croix Priemer. I have two of these set-ups. I fish with 6' medium-fast. You won't be disappointed in the Sahara.
