ATV work/repair

does anyone do ATV repair?? i am in need of someone to fix my sons 2000 Eton Yukon 150. i have tried what i know and its has done no good if anything it has made it worse. if anyone knows anything about them let me know. Thanks

whats the matter? might be able to help on line, surely can't make any worse and might save you a trip to the dealer or shop or junk yard.

it will start and idle rough and when you put it in gear hit the throttle it dies. prolly something easy that im not seeing but i dont know much about them. Thanks

is it a two stroke where you mix gas and oil ? or gas only? I can walk you through lots of easy things to check. Start with the air cleaner, and replace the spark plug. After that I will need to know if it is a two stroke or four stroke. Might take us a few posts but I bet we can figure it out. There is really not much to those little four wheelers. They can get finicky with age though.

it is the four stroke model. i havent messed with it in a while. i think this week ill drag it back out and tinker with it a little.

we changed the spark plur but did not clean or replace anything to do with the air cleaner

When you drag it out, drain all the gas out, take the bowl off of the carb and clean it. Fill the gas tank and leave the bowl off carb and see if gas runs out of the bottom of carb. IF it doesn't then find the restriction. If it runs out then put the bowl back on. May just need to clean the carb out, not all that difficult. I can walk you through that too if needed.

Very possible, if it won't start pull your plug to see if it is wet with gas. If you take the air cleaner tube off you will be able to see the choke plate to verify it is opening and closing.
