Brown County Indiana, fishing spots?
Hi,
Going to be there for a couple day in a few weeks, looking for some places to fish. I know about Yellowwood and Ogle and my cabin is on a private 1 acre pond, but was curious if there were any other options, will have a small jon boat, but of course if there is nice private lake/pond that would be cool too. Taking my Dad and father-in law and trying to find a good fishing hole. Any recommendations?
thanks

Great area you are going to be at - personally I would have to get over to Monroe { biggest lake in the state } and fish the idle side and hit all the wood I could find . Been having really good results fishing 5" Yamamoto Senkos weightless on a 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG with the tail dipped in a garlic dye {anit gonna say what color ! } right up against most lay-downs and trees in pits/lakes we fish . The only bad thing is lots of 10" - 14" bass and the tore up Senkos .
Good luck and tight lines !

Lake Lemon gets many great reviews. I've driven by it many times, but haven't been able to fish it yet. Last I drove by it there were some patches of lily pads that looked perfect for a frog!

Yeah, not sure we'll have time for Monroe, it is a family trip that include Grandma's , kids , wife ... was looking for a place we could hit for a few hours that was close.
Anyone know if Somerset lake has access to the public? Worth fishing?

Ogle and Strahl lakes in Brown Co SP. Throw a zoom trick worm weightless. Watermelon or Junebug work great. I throw them on spinning rod, 8lb test, single straight hook, 2/0. Hook them in the middle of worm. You will have a ball. There are some creeks in the area that look good but I have never fished them.
