If you don't get any response on this board go to the evenrude board on bass boat central.I wish I had the e-tec on my xpress instead of the 90hp Yamaha.
Their 2 different motors. The Honda is a four-stroke and the Evinrude is a 2-Stroke. I think you would be happy with either one, I would just look at the # of service shops in your regions you travel for each motor. Honda usually has a lot less, but it all depends on where.

I bought an ETEC 90 last june, so far it has lived up to all the hype. Great fuel economy, VERY VERY quiet, and is very quick out of the hole. I've got it mounted on a 16 ft cajun bass boat. The only problem has been propping it. so far i've used a 13 3/4 x 17 S.S., a 13 1/4 x 17 al and neither has given the performance i want. i'm gonna try a 4 blade aluminum next. Only got to run a partial season so i'll let ya know the outcome.
