Thanks for the input. Have thrown some spinners but been fishin mostly minnows. Haven't really worked quite that shallow, but certainly will try it.

Move On, Thanks for the input. I am a newly retired( gonna learn how to fish) fisherman. On one told me it would be this hard. I will keep after them. Actually just love being on the water.

Have fished three times this year and have not had a good day yet. Fished stucture deep. Fished shallows and fished timber various depths.

We had a good weekend other than the weather. Caught a boat load of smallish crappie. Alse caught quite a few keepers, a couple of 15iners and three nice catfish.

Thanks alot. I anticipate a rough trip but we'll have fun regardless. Been a terrible spring for fishing for far, maybe it will straighten up. I'll let you know how we do.

Great fish, Id heard that most of them were being caught while bass fishing. I don't know if they're plentiful enough to fish for at Patoka yet.

I've only fished patoka. Can't seem to catch anything but small ones both crappie & gills. Going tomorrow afternoon. Maybe it will be better. The rains have kept the water pretty dirty.

Are the crappie on the nest yet or has this weather kept things messed up??

Fished ramp creek a week ago. Everything small. It looked like the locals were camped out on a couple of brush piles in the open water.
Caught a couple of nice crappie up in the slow end.

no walleye but I can't say we ever fished for them. Caught 1 small striper, 3 cats. All on minnows. Threw tons of different color road runners, nothead jigs etc. Almost no luck on them.

Wow, did we have fun. I can't get over what a beautiful lake Monroe is. We fished our butts off. There were four of us on a fishing pontoon. I lost count of how many dozen minnows we went though.

What kind of rigs were you catching white bass on?

Great job.. I envy you guys who know how to fish. I stayed in the deep water and had very little sucess. Tried looking for shad but couldn't find them. Which end of the lake were you on?

Just retired.... Never been a fisherman... Determined to learn at Patoka Lake. Any tips for bass or crappie this spring would be appreciated.
