Heading to KY Lake (Paris Landing) this Friday through Sunday and will report back.
Any update on this?
Anyone been on rough lately? With last weeks rain, wondering if a lot of debris is floating and clarity...looks like they haven't started pulling much water yet like they typically do in mid October.
Fished Barkley Friday-SUnday last week, it was tough but developed a pattern for smallies. Ended up with a half dozen 3-4 lbs smallies and some dinks. Partner and I caught two largemouth back to back...

Here are some photos from this weekends tournament at Rough River. Fish were still deeper on mouths and points of bays...sounds like they havent moved up and are transitioning still.

Usually with a rod and reel and a lure/bait tied on.
Which sag more, the bellies of old strip mine bass or the bellies of old strippers?
I caught a 17 incher and a lot of people caught a few between 15-18 inches...but nothing bigger. Red bandit Crank
Here are some pics from out tournament on Saturday out of Jamestown Ramp on Cumberland. Most fish were caught on Spinnerbaits and cranks in about 10 feet of water. Towards the back of the creeks,...
Louisville Metro Bass Club Cumberland Results...not many fish, but a 6.48 LM

Just drove by it on my way to New Albaniana across the river...highest I've ever seen it!
Maybe they had pneumonia?
I'm fishing there for the first time this Saturday...that should be fun.
Not a bad price either.
Check out the dates, they are Saturday tournaments or Saturday/Sunday for two-days.
Bill,
We decide the ramps and the start time at the meeting before we randomly choose who is going to fish with who, for example this Thursday at 7pm. For example, a lot of the start time depends...
I used to fish McNeely a decent amount. Biggest bass I ever caught was a 3.5 out of there and it was on the bed (took me 30 minutes to finally tick it off enough). I've caught a handful of bass out...
Oops, shakey got the biggest.
Check out http://louisvillemetrobassclub.wordpress.com to see the nice two chunks caught off Green today.
Largest on a shakey and second on a jig.
Between boater and non-boater, costs are usually split right down the middle. I'm a non-boater and most tournaments don't cost too much for gas.
Couldn't have said it any better. Great post.
?? We have a cop who fishes with us sometimes...but no it's not the police officer/firemen tournaments you are referencing.
The 2011 Louisville Metro Bass Club has been released and we have a new website as well: http://louisvillemetrobassclub.wordpress.com. We are looking for new members as always so feel free to email...
I used to live 5 minutes from where they hold it. The towns motto is "we don't have a town drunk, we just take turns" it's actually a fun event that raises money for charity. I saw some pics from...
vibrations in the water cause the erratic jumping. you should see what happens when you shock the water.
That a lot of hours of video tape to be reviewed to make sure no one is cheating. Also, unless you have money like BASS and planned on filming to tournament, I highly doubt local or medium sized...
It took just as long for Asian Carp to get into Kentucky waters as it takes for some people to get a joke...
I've backed down that exact ramp many of times. Duane is a good guy, he does carry the same name of Dog the Bounty Hunter. Won't catch me eating one though.
Thats 10 minutes away from where I grew up as a kid...the tournament is crazy
Same thing for me, have broken off a lot of fish and snags with the Vanish...swore off the stuff.
whats the entry fee, we are fishing out of the same ramp and similar hours?
Yea we got a little last night here in Louisville and it has rained a bit this morning, might help my tournament on the Ohio tomorrow.
Was getting engagement photos downtown and along the riverfront last night and man have the mayflies (could be damselflies) had a hatch...they were everywhere.
Sidenote: Girls don't like bugs...
That was a chunk of a smallie!
Fished Rough on Saturday and went in with the expectations of frying under the sun. We fished a deep drop off right by the ramp and I picked up two slots real quick and then a huge storm passed...
As Alabama once sang, troll on, troll on, troll on....maybe it was roll on, roll on, roll on...but whatever.
What you do is fishing. There are many different types of fishing and not everyone...
I've never fished them in Rough, but I have found them productive in any color water as long as it's not Ohio River Brown. The hooks have a molded on weight on the bottom to get them down, but I...
Spoke with a buddy last night and he said everywhere he went "jumps" were going on. He never fished them assuming they were strippers, but good to know you got a bass outta there. I'm gonna have my...
Good Stuff man!
I agree deep to shallow, a lot of people will fish the bank leading up to the point and then make a few casts across the point neglecting the deeper portion of it and just focusing on the same depth...

Maybe give him a buzz and he can email you the document.
Let me look into this, I'll see what I can do...I'm surprised it's not in a PDF form.
Have a tournament there this Saturday...lookin to be a scorcher. Joy. Anyone know how the water levels and clarity are? I'm figuring I will be either crankbaiting or slowly working a shakey head a...
A lot of it has to do with the sinking motion. They are more subtle and something different a bass hasn't seen (well before a few years ago...) They are great for skipping under docks because of...
I've never had a problem with wide gap and setting the hook. How deep are you putting the barb into the bait? I just barely put it in the raised rib and it's weedless. A lot of time bluegills will...
