They moved out.
If you can toss a net I usually can find them in Procter Creek which is a tad upstream on the left from where Obey dumps in.

I’ve stayed in the cabins there. The whole place is very well taken care of. Restaurant was great.
Save yourself some time and agony and drive across street to Dale. Much better population. On C land I’ll bounce around point to point and throw an 1/8 oz jig head tipped with half a crawler with...
Sent you a PM bassky
Happy to deliver with a case of your favorite beverage...
Any referrals? Got a couple rods that need eyes. Don’t want to mail.
Dale Broughton is only guide I know of in Cinti area.
You have about 70 miles of KY water and 3 ramps between Burkesville and Celina. Years of exploring worth.
Several knots work fine with braid. I use palomar exclusively and snell my hooks. Just have to do everything in the right order.
Try braid with mono leader. Not sure what happened with big game but I’ve abandoned it. Too many “freak” break offs. Heard similar story from others. Ande is all I use for leaders.
That’s boat...
Thanks all! That one was special - drug the wife out on our anniversary weekend.
Good to see you post Chuck. The classic is in your backyard in 3 weeks. PM me some tips lol...
Spawn time. Makes day time bite tough. Guides are grinding for 1-3 fish days...
A big shad die off coupled with heavy generation makes for fantastic fishing below the dam!
Thanks for report. Any skipjack around?
I’m not a fan of auto pilot on advanced mode. Too much crazy Ivan. You can change the setting to legacy mode and the adjustments are more bearable.
I’m referring to Minn Kota assuming that’s what...
Saw a plug for a guy on here a while back?
That river can get ya in a hurry! I have lot's of great stories over the years. Pulling boards one morning and came up on a capsized canoe. About a 1/2 mile later found the captain on side of river....
Do tell more Peter...towing? You use that shad trawl thing? How does that work with a light? I'll be down this weekend. Hearing bait is best around 50 feet. A big net with tape works best at that...
You could always troll instead. Sr5 in deeper water. Pins minnow in shallow.
Thanks pappy. Will let you know what we find
Might mix it up and try for some slabs Saturday. I really only crappie fish the lake during winter and think "my spots" will be too deep at 700 feet. Any tips appreciated. We primarily cast jigs. Not...
Both are equal distance from burkesville ramp. About 8 miles either way if my memory is right. Try and get em close to mouth. You don't have to go back far in either before water is 30 degrees...
Crocus or Marriebone are only 2 creeks you're allowed to net in. Bringing any from hot water sources doesn't work well.
Because when targeting big fish day in and day out nothing beats the real thing....
This law actually protects the striper and hurts the trout so I'm all for it. Got to love the law of unintended consequences sometimes :-)
The Lund is fine from a couple miles up from burkesville and about 4 miles down before Traces. The run at traces can make you pucker up in low flow if you don't know it (especially coming back up)....
Wow this post is a blast from the past! Still run my 2003 Honda 130 hard. I tournament fish and often make long runs WOT. The lower unit has needed a little love but the motor still purrs. No gauge...
I struggled catching bait Saturday morning. Must have been deeper than the 45 ft rope I was using which turned out to be a blessing. Mixed it up and went crappie fishing. Prob ended up catching about...
Heading south to check on my place at Grider this weekend. Assuming everything checks out I plan to do some fishing. Can't resist 60 degrees at end of January! Heard from a guide he thought doubtful...
What a beast!!!
That's one way to make up for lost time!!
Stripes are better right below dam when it's been running high and hard for awhile. Fishing generally better farther down. Went last week for skips from bank. Nada. To second shelkcat - when below...
Anyone been out recently and know if there are any skips below the dam? Was going to look this weekend but they haven't been running any water until afternoon.
Now that the dam is releasing cold water again I don't think you'll find many crappie there anymore. The mouth of hatchery creek was a good spot last few years. The lake has a lot of slabs but it's...
Thanks all. It was sweet!
Fished Saturday by the dam. Lake is as bad as I've ever seen it in over 20 years on that end. Strong winds helped and by sun down it was 90% better. It was high impact fishing with down lines. Had to...
Be careful out there when they're spilling. The undercurrent actually pulls you toward the dam!
Congrats to Lance on the 14 lb walleye. Fish of a lifetime! And it was released!
Legality aside... I think it would make money if located in the right place. We need a "striper soup" on this lake...
Heading down this weekend and am thinking about trying below dam one day. Just wondering if any big Browns have showed up yet? Probably still too early for the eyes?
When fishing water near Nashville it is advised to use the small alewife to catch the bait you really need. Take said 3lb bait shaped like a tarpon and fish it on a double hook rig behind the boat....
Aaron puts on a great event. I think he found his calling. Fishing was very tough for the masses (including me). Fish were tight to cover and weren't actively feeding. Hats off to all that monied....
Let me rephrase...
The bigger question is why hasn't the full power of our state/federal gov't not been deployed to figure out why the carp went belly up? Seems we were given a gift. The carp...
Big business isn't dumb. It takes millions in start up capital to build a large cannery. If too many start up at one time and demand skyrockets we'll have more commercial fisherman. When more are...
CG-Wow, I think you need to read a little closer. The only thing I "knew for sure" was that not all sun fish are legal bait?
Fish were a little scattered but managed a few fish sandwiches. 40-80...
Good stuff - sorry for any confusion. I guess just redears > 6 inches are off limits. I thought green sunfish were not allowed but that's not the case. Heading out in a few minutes with some...
Sounds like some quality fish being caught recently. Didn't expect to hear of as many 20+ lbers as I have this early in the "recovery." Positive sign!
Bait is tough this time of year. Try burning...
The world record blue was caught using cut Asian carp.... Catfish regs update; the LCR followed the recommendations of KDFWR and passed regs. CF filed an injunction and judge honored. Regs are not...
Thanks for report. My buddy caught a 44 lb stripe a few weeks ago on a shad rap! 10 lb line -said fight lasted over 50 minutes. It's a miracle he was able to land the fish
Something is definitely wrong. It was tough last year and horrible this year. I'm struggling to come up with 10 pieces this year in spots that I used to have trouble getting the net back in from...
More expensive junk...
Ah, memories Duayne; nothing like cruising down the lake at 50 mph and having your TM deploy! The old genesis is still in the shed if anybody wants it for an art project...
First, thanks to all that offered help - I really appreciate it! It always worked, just cut off randomly so I cleaned up and crimped down the "hot wire" in hopes the connection problems would go...
Anyone know of a good repair shop close to NKY besides Rod's? He's a haul from me...
