Don’t know anything about temp, clarity or bite but they are pulling it hard (2700cfs) to get back on schedule after all the recent rain. It actually came up almost a foot yesterday. Probably...
I would agree regarding the spring spawning run up the rivers, which ended long ago. However, they can be caught in the jumps on main lake early and late in the day (at Nolin at least).

Thanks for the info....ended up only getting to fish from 10:30-1:30 Sunday due to chores. Did....not....have....a....bite....TOUGH. Tried all of the above and talked to others with similar...
Thanks for the info...I figured the CB bite could be coming to an end since the draw down is finished. Guess we’ll throw the kitchen sink at em and see what works!
Were they fairly shallow?
Going this weekend and planning to throw a lot of small CB’s on rock. If you don’t mind saying, what worked and what didn’t for you guys?
Sent you a PM
Anyone? Not looking for your spots, just patterns. Thanks!
Hey all, heading to Barren for first time in a few years. Anyone have any info in the hybrid bite? Thinking of doing some night fishing for them and not sure if I should try the live bait route or...
Hey Frank, moving up to June from August this year I see? I assume the times are EST? You gonna let Salsman fish? ;-)

Sorry for the slow reply on last weekend's report. I only got to fish about 4 hours on Saturday afternoon and stayed in Dog Creek the entire time. Water was in good shape with a little stain but...
Crappie fished last Saturday from 10a-7p and caught 14 keepers, 8 of which were 11-12.5 inches. Couldn't get a single bite on jig, all caught on minnows in around 8-10 feet. Only caught about 4-5...
Check it out:

Check out the aerial photos on google earth of that area.....you'll see it loud and clear, of course, you already got an up close look at it in person!
Whoa...almost a 5.5lb avg with a big fish of only 5.8 - that's quite a sack of fish!
I'm no expert, but I don't agree with restornator that the full moon means it won't be good. I almost always have good success bass fishing under a full moon, do not sure why crappie would be...
I personally don't know the levels well enough to say, but you might try one of the canoe services out of mammoth cave. They probably know.
Rudy is correct...that's Piney Creek
Its been completely redone by new owners (the rooms at least and the restaurant somewhat). They have a Facebook page.
Well, just to follow up with a report for all the tight lipped folks out there...
Saturday before 10AM, not as much as a smell on any of my best deep spots with bottom baits, crank baits or swim...
Anybody doing any good the past week or so? Probably fish some long points and drops early and late this weekend myself. CRig worked ok last weekend. Just curious if anybody has a pattern that's...
We're they large mouth or mostly kentucky's? Any size?
You didn't say if the worm wad on a Texas rig or not, but I'm assuming so. If that's the case, I would throw a c-rig instead...sometimes that makes all the difference. Worked great at Nolin this...
I feel your pain as well....Fished Saturday and Sunday mornings from daylight until 10AM both days.
Saturday: caught 1 13" LM on a shaky head in 15 feet and fished several of my best deep spots...
How'd the kayaking and fishing go?
The fishing is good in Dog Creek in general...one of the 5-6 main feeder creeks on the lake. Fishing will be good from the boat ramp back to the fork and beyond. Lots of standing timber in the back...
My dock is just past the bridge and the earlier poster is correct, you should definitely go all the way back into the right hand branch. If for no other reason than the scenery alone. Fishing is...
Old pappy has forgotten more about crappie than the rest of us know! Heard if anyone still catchen em at nolin or t-Ville? Thx
Here's what the flyer attachment says:

Wax Boat Ramp, Wax, KY

$50 Entry fee,...
Might get more replies on the main kentucky discussion board instead of the photo board....but I would try Days Pro Bass on Hwy 88 at intersection with Hwy 479 (right near Wax). They are the best...
Fished Saturday night from 7:15p-10:15p and shad were thick in Dog Creek. Caught 2 keeper LM 17-18 inches and 2 slots and 2 decent Ky's all on a deep middle N in shad pattern. No concentration of...
Hey Bob, how'd ya do at Nolin for the gills? Were the bigguns biting?
Use this one instead...it's USGS and is updated every hour, 24/7 so it's more real time than the corps site which is only once per day at 6AM

Costa Del Mar...hands down. Have worn these over the past 11 years and won't ever go without them since. I have lost a pair (flew off hat while running), broken a pair (lon-term wear & tear from...
restornator: I have a dock on Nolin as well and I put brush out near it as well as other areas of the lake. However, I could care less who fishes it, because it's public water. All I ask is that...
5 feet below summer pool as of this evening...came up a little over a foot with the weekend rain. Probably only come up a couple inches a day rest of week though unless we get another good rain.
Did you fish deeper and try the c-rig?
Try a c-rig and fish deeper on longer points or humps leading to/away from spawning areas.
Fished from 7:30-10:30am and 4-6:30pm on Sat and then 7:15-10:00am again on Sunday. Caught 42 with most around 13-14.75 inches and 7 keepers with the biggest around 18 inches. Every fish was caught...
I think you and JFW are both talking about the same place...Barton's run is technically the 2nd cove (though it's a small creek) on left above Wax (assuming you count the cove behind Wax where the...
Mid lake creeks and coves...didn't seem to matter as to how far back.
I had said I would be at Nolin all week and crappie/bass fishing but plans have changed slightly. I did get to fish Monday morning from 7:30-11:30 and here's a report.
Caught 8 keeper crappie on...
Anybody been crappie fishing at Nolin this week and got a report? Leaving in the morning for the next week and will be crappie and bass fishing all week. Hoping the cold front slows them up a bit...
Hey Pappy, good info and I agree with the slip bobber being a must. On the jigs, which I prefer to use almost exclusively also, here's a trick I use. I always use an unpainted horsehead jig with a...
Me: "That fish is deformed"....
Partner: "Really? What's wrong with it?"
Me: "His head is growing too close to his tail"
Compliments of Hank Parker
There are as many answers to that as there are different types of crappie jigs ;-) But personally, I like to search out any wood cover (preferably brush piles or stump fields and then laydowns). I...
Caught 30 keepers in about 8 hours of fishing over two days, so not on fire...but a good mess.
Really only crappie fished last Wed/Thu but was throwing a 2" crappie jig the entire time. Caught several bass both days and was mainly in Dog Creek or main lake coves and deeper pockets. Most of...
