Never heard of anyone doing that Elnut.
Sounds like you all hit the nail on the head with your descriptions.
My exact advice... smart man....
Oink oink
I haven't - I fish farther south than that.
Get a 7' M Veritas rod and a Revo SX in 6.4:1, great all around set up. Can be had for 230$ on tacklewarehouse.
Awesome
Absolutely, but I seem to still catch fish even if it only has one claw left. I generally go through about 2 packs when I fish them all day, good thing they are cheap.
I don't keep anything I catch there, with MSD up the creek you never know.
It's a great place to fish.
I fished Floyd's Fork yesterday for about 6 hours will a friend of mine. The water was very clear and about 76 degrees, but it was very low and unfortunately made some of my favorite spots...
Post the pic of that pig
They are all over the place in the state.
Veritas.
Its a muddy mess right now. If we don't get anymore rain, it should be okay. If we do, I wouldn't waste your time.
Happy to hear you are getting to spend some quality time with your son elnut
Sounds like a good weekend, thanks for the report.
I've used it before. For me, it wasn't worth the difference in price between what I usually use, Trilene 100%.
No line that is good for blacklights is going to handle very well.... I've used Stren in the past, it was okay.

Wow
Good looking fish, bet those are a blast to catch in a yak.
No problem, good luck!
I've had a lot of luck so far this year on craw plastics, texas rigged.
I use Trilene 100% and have never had any issues, good stuff.
Havnt seen any hybrid jumps at rough yet this year, but have managed to catch a few anyway.
Love creek fishing. If you are after smallmouth, try out Floyds Fork sometime, I've caught 3 3lb+ smallies out of there this year as well as a ton of FAT rock bass.
...
I would probably try somewhere else. I fished there this weekend and it was pretty slow going, caught a few fish but overall it wasn't very good. Water is still low too.
Thanks for sharing
I agree, sounds like a bad connection to me. I'd check the wiring.
Ive never seen any that big but I have for sure seen some pushing 5'
I'd go to Barren.
I'd go to Rough.
Haven't seen any hybrid jumps yet this year. Fished all day Saturday, caught bass here and there but nothing to brag about, only 2 keepers. Did see bluegill all over the place though, especially back...
Never used that reel but the Veritas is a great rod.
How much do you want for your dingy Peter?
For bass, yes, but for convenience Waverly is within 10 minutes probably from him. I have heard of people catching some nice catfish there, and I believe it is also periodically stocked with trout....
I use a 4/0 EWG gamakatsu for almost every texas rigged application with the exception of when i throw small chunk/craw plastics when I am creek fishing, then I'll use a 1/0.
Never had too much luck there. Being as you are in Valley Station, you should try Waverly Park sometime.
I'm in the same boat as you. Initial investment was large, but so worth it. Just don't lose them!
16.5 thats a huge slab for Rough, nice job!
Get a Veritas.
Check out Rough River. You wont get any rough water there and you and your family can stay at the state park lodge, its very nice.
Don't fish there enough to have any opinions specific to Cumberland, but I do however favor having a slot at all lakes.
I'd recommend stick jackets.
Fished Floyds Fork yesterday and had a great time. A buddy and I got in near Seatonville Rd and waded about a half mile upstream. Caught a bunch of very feisty rock bass as well as a smallmouth that...
Nice one

Crappie at Rough are biting. Fish around North Fork, 2" tube jigs.
