I have seen a few caught at the hill. I would say the same holds true for below Loudon. Have you had a chance to go yet? Would like to hear a report.
How far below 61 bridge were you? Did you catch any stripes? Any other bites? I fished below 61 bridge with shad last year my first time with no luck.
Thanks for the update. Great catch!
Looks like a bow, but the red spots are typical of a brown.
Some browns tend to loose their tint when removed from the water.
Where did you catch it? What was your bait?
Bull run would be a good bet.
I live and fish in TN.
Since I began reading the Tennessee board last year I have noticed a significant drop off. The biggest reason I think is the previous users were not learning new...
Fort Loudon.
Curious as to the nature of the Threadfin shads in the creeks. Can anyone tell me the cycle of the threadfins? When do they spawn, move into creeks, out of the creeks?
Any comments from bass out...
If you have eyes like an eagle you can catch bait below the hill about anytime of the year.
This past weekend I caught small 1-3" threadfins. They were thick in Turkey Creek. Used them at...
Fished Kingston on the 24th for a few hours. One fellow mentioned he caught several stripes bottom fishing directly below the discharge with 5-6" gizzard. I fished the inlet and landed a massive 3.5#...
With the water on, you can find bait at both locations where the water is coming out of the discharge. At Melton hill they are typically bunched up next to the bank just right of the discharge and...
Thanks for the update. Heard the bugs were not coming off this year as in the past...Plan to camp and fish later this month.
Were you trolling with the fly? How deep?
Thanks for the update!!!!!!!!!!!
Shawn-
After a few struggling moments I realize the potential. Learning the ropes may be a challenge in this site. Will revisit when I have more time. Maps have good detail which have not bee easy...
Thanks but I was looking for a Hybrid weight/length ratio chart.
Anybody know how to figure out the age and weight of a hybrid using lenght/girth?
Species Scientific Name Weight Catch Place Catch Date Angler Status
Bass, smallmouth Micropterus dolomieu 11 lbs. 15 oz. - 5.41 kgs Dale Hollow Lake Tennessee, USA July 9, 1955 David...
Anyone have a conversion for Length/girth to weight for Hybrids and age?
Landed a hybrid last weekend I estimated around 22 lbs. Last year I weighed a 17 lber that was smaller so I had a pretty...
Carp. Chum with corn then using a small hook and split shot you can slay them. Best places will be summertime shallow coves. Don't let the kids leave the rod unattended or you'll either loose it or...
Hey BD,
Any report from Kingston this weekend?
The hill was off and cold.
Thanks,
Matt
Ah, I thought you might have the inside tip. Thanks again.
Thanks for the info!
How did you find out about this?
Anybody catching any yet? It seems like this year has been off so far at Bull run.
I fished Saturday with only a few strikes (from musky).
Bd- Do you think the temps and lack of rain have had...
Hey Bd,
Have you fished under a full moon at the steam plants? If so any luck?
How long do you think the water needs to run before they tighten up around the plant? It appears they are...
I bet in the last few cold nights they have been up in there. My only chance to go will be xmas day, which may be the key to low pressure, but the warm front moving in will likely change things don't...
Bullrun. Have you had any luck lately at night?
Caught bait, but no bites. Had a pontoon boat yesterday nearly run over my line when they came flying into the cove. To much wake in such a small area. Then they decided to run the pontoons onto the...
I have been wondering the same thing about using a flyrod. It seems feasible, but I don't think a strike indicator would hold up the fly, nor do i think the floating line would be a good system...
