The state park ramp does not charge a fee.
The State Park is open on weekends only right now and North Fork is open. Both ramps are a little rough with the water down but usable.
I think it's right on schedule from looking at the COE chart. They normally start hold water in most of their lake on 3/15.
I use the ramp at the state park.
It won't hurt gel coat. I used it to remove the 3m tape of my KeelGuard. It's what Triton told me to use.
I have been using a BPS CarbonLite 7'2" in medium with a fast action. Does pretty good.
Drove over the dam on Nolin yesterday and it was about half froze.
Talked to a friend that lives down there and he said it's iced over.
Congrats to you, hope you enjoy it and catch a lot of fish with it. Good luck.
I don't know how much I can help you but, I fished rough today and they named it right (rough) for today. Caught a few dinks early shallow on buzz baits and spinner baits. Once the sun was up nothing...
Glad your back on your feet and on the water. You were missed.
Man, those are hogs. Very nice!
I heard yesterday that the night bite has been much better last week. For day try worms and jigs about 15-20 deep. Good luck!
Fished Rough one day last week and the bite was tough. The bass were deep still and not many bites at all. Water was clear and the temperature was 84.
I was down there Thursday afternoon and the bite was slow. Talked to several guys and they said the same thing. The water temperature was 84 and the water is super clear on the main lake. Fished a...
Like said, yes you can catch fish cranking at night. I have caught bass cranking, I like to use crankbaits with loud rattles. I use worms, jigs and buzzbaits most of the time but do throw a crankbait...
Glad to hear she is ok. Like the others have said, don't get rid of your boat. Learn from the accident and enjoy your boat. My wife started going with me sometimes and I watch her close because she...
Moonlights are hard to beat.
Over the years I have caught two bass on a crankbait a number of times. About a month ago I caught a LM and a bluegill on the same crankbait at Rough River, that was a first for me.
I fished a tournament there last weekend and did not see any jumps. We did however catch 5 or 6 off a point down deep when we didn't want to.
You got your moneys worth out of those plugs, I'd replace them for sure.
Yesterday it was about 4' over summer pool and the color was not bad.
Was there last week and the closer you get to the dam the water clears up. The water is pretty clear at the dam.
Sent you a PM, good luck!
Welcome to the board, you will enjoy it here and I'm sure you can learn a lot from these guys. I do more reading than posting and have learned that like most boards there are some that know a lot and...
Here is the one I use, it's about like the motormate. It's a SwivlEze.

Lakemaster does not have many lakes in our area. Most of the lakes they have are down south. You can go to their web site and see the lakes available.
I used it for years in an old in-line six Mercury. Kept it running good.
Got mine today, looks like there are a lot of stuff I need!
I was down at Barren the other day and the only open water I saw was at the dam. There was a couple of open spots and that was it. Made the winter seem even longer, can't wait to see open water....
Was there yesterday and it was froze almost everywhere I was. Down by the dam there was a couple of places of open water.
Here is a guy down in Brownsville that can take care of you if that's not to far.

I put a Keel Guard on my Triton last year and like the others said it took about an hour. Also like others said mine started coming back off, separated from the adhesive. Called Keel Guard and they...
I was at Barren today and saw more cranes than bass!
Sounds like it to me. If you go on the main lake you should see the same thing with decaying leaves floating.
For the money a Bass Pro Pro Qualifier reel with a 7' Carbonlite rod. I have been using a couple of them for the last couple of years and they have been good.
Was at Moutardier yesterday and no fee while the shutdown is going.
I was told last week by the local sheriff that the only ramp that would be open starting Monday would be the stat park. Has anyone been there this week? If so, is Moutardier or any other ramps open?
I was at Nolin yesterday and was told by the local sheriff that the only ramp that would be open after Sunday 10/6 would be the state park ramp.
Just got back from Nolin and never put a keeper in the boat. That's bad enough but as I was getting the boat ready to come home the local sheriff said the only ramp that will be open after Sunday...
How and where did you find out this information. Do you know why they are delaying.
I have had bad luck with Carlisle. Had one blow out that was 1 1/2 years old that was hanging on the rack on my trailer that had never been on the ground. Looked like someone had put 500 pounds of...
That's what they told me at BPS when I was looking. I have had better luck with Humminbird over the years also so I just bought another Humminbird to replace a Lowrance that went out a few weeks ago.
I fished Rough today and it was slow. One bite on a jig and caught a few on a crankbait. Water clearing but still murkey and 51 degrees.
Like the others said, I like 7:1.
Another side of these stories are the next generation, grandchildren. I'm now enjoying my 13 year old granddaughter and 10 month old grandson. I'm taking the oldest fishing and hunting now and have...
I use to use electricity hooked up to two rods to get worms, works great just like on the video. Only problem I had was the worms don't seem to live as long. I saw an old guy doing it years ago when...
That's some nice brown fish, looks like you had a good day.
Just came in from checking the transducer and it seems like it's still glued good. I understand that my not be the case just from pulling on it. I guess my next question wold be as tight as it seems...
