Would anyone happen to know the water temp on Cumberland?
Fished Cedar creek Sunday. Water was the usual green color for the most part, muddy in the back of the creeks. Temp was 46° and the bite was slow for us. Caught 1 on a spinnerbait.
Thanks a bunch, I was a little concerned that it would be really stained as the rivers around the house are all muddy.
Planning an afternoon/evening fish on Cumberland Thursday. Making a long drive for a short trip, curious if anyone has any insight on water clarity on the upper and lower end of the lake. Don't plan...

Not sure if they still carry them, but my local walmart used to carry them. Still have 1 or 2 that I bought from there. If you're gonna be anywhere near the danville area I'd give you what I have.
Went Sunday, everything we caught came on crankbaits or spinnerbaits. Tried a jig and shakey head with no luck, they wanted to chase something. Fish were not on the bank but pretty shallow.
I've bought it from stokley's in the past.
Water has a good color in those pics. Thanks for all the input guys.
BTW R19, you should just throw away those crankbaits and use dough balls for carp. If it'll help I'll get rid of em for ya!
That sounds much more promising than the report he had given. Thanks fellas
Water has a good color in that picture.
I can text it to you, if you want to PM me your number.
Just curious, a friend of mine fished at cumberland today. Water was heavily stained and 53° around the dam. He caught 4 on crankbaits. I was considering a trip Saturday, but after seeing his...
Put in at Cumberland point Sunday morning, water was stained and 47 on main lake, 12"-18" of visibility, water was slightly cleaner and colder in the back of the creeks at 44 degrees. Found fish on...
Thanks a bunch, information is always much appreciated.
I usually fish Cedar creek, but lately, I find myself fishing Cumberland more often than not. Don't necessarily target smallmouth when I go, but will fish for anything that will bite! Been reading on...
Put in at Cumberland point today, fished Cub, Faubush and white oak. Main lake very stained, some clearing in the backs of the creeks. Tried the dirty water for a bit because it usually lends itself...
Made it back out to cedar creek this past Tuesday, water was extremely dirty. Somehow seemed worse than this spring, I'm guessing due to the mud exposed from the lake being down. Threw everything I...
Ditto on the main lake cuts, and a slow A rig bite. Had some decent luck on sloping banks with medium diving crankbaits. Haven't had an over abundance of luck on the jig bite there my last few trips,...
Not to cedar creek, a few friends were going to Cumberland and invited me so I caved. Still haven't been back to cedar creek but hope to next week.
i will post results when I make it out.
Thanks for the input, took a hiatus from cedar creek and fished Cumberland the last few weeks. I'm goin to fish cedar creek this Sunday, hope for a little redemption.
Anyone noticed a negative effect on the bite at cedar creek since they began lowering it? The day's I've been its been mediocre at best. I didn't know if it was just my personally, or if anyone else...
I fished it this past Thursday, despite the rain levels the water was clear and level hadn't seemed to change much. The amount of boat traffic was the worst I've ever seen. I stood at the ramp at the...
Fished it Tuesday, very muddy in the creeks. Cleared towards the dam. Caught 1 15" on a white rattle trap.
Water temp was 40* at the surface at 3pm Saturday with 95% of the lake being free of ice.
Fished Cedar Creek lake on Saturday the 17th. Water was 37.5* when we started and was teetering on 40* when we left. Concentrated on crappie for the most part but fished for bass the last hour or...
Fished cumberland on Friday 1/2. Stayed in lily and greasy creeks. Water temp was 48* on average except in the extreme backs of the creeks where it was as low as 39*. Largemouth seemed active in the...
Thanks for the report, I'm planning a trip Friday to the other end of the lake. I'll post results.
We put in at the dam and fished main lake points around Indian creek and up in Indian creek to the marina. We also fished some of the small cuts across from beaver and otter creek. Water temp was 49*...
Ending up at Dale hollow isn't out of the question. My buddy and I had discussed it as a possibility. Wherever we end up I'll be sure to post results and conditions.
Hey folks,
I'm planning a trip to cumberland this Friday and I'm torn on which end to head to. My target species is smallmouth, but I'm happy just to get any of them on the line. I've only fished...
I was there Tuesday (in the rain) put in at Conley bottom and fished main lake in that area and up in Faubush. Faubush was muddy from 3/4 to the back with about 100 yards or so from the muddy water...
A lot of really helpful info there, Thanks for taking the time to reply.
This is my first year doing any amount of fishing to speak of, and first year having ever fished the land o' cumber. So...
I have a Daiwa Tatula in the 7.1:1 and I love it. The cast is foolproof and the retrieve is butter smooth
That would make sense. Thanks for the reply.
Notice I didn't say "caught" at cumberland. I fished yesterday on the main lake around Conley bottom and up in Faubush creek. I'm by no means an experienced fisherman and make no claims to the...
