any of you guys been there recently? Never been and I thought I'd try it out. All I'm looking for is a temp.
What are they doing to Rough John?
Can't fish Friday Jimmy?
People who fish the Akebono circuit are considered professional fisherman and won't be allowed to fish Jimmy.
I'm assuming that the times are lake times right?
John the 25th is on a thursday
he moved to ky lake
called them yesterday about this and whoever answered said it was the 9th-16th
Are these still going on the 2nd and 4th sat every month? if so what time is take off?
Yes there is a tourney out of both Moutardier and wax both on friday nights
Just put a rubber band on the arms and put them in a plano box. Roll the rubber band down to the head and fish, when done roll it back down the arms. Simple.
It's really hard to catch fish on any kind of swimbaits in dirty water. You basically have to hit them in the nose with it. Not saying it can't be done but it's pretty **** hard to do. You really...
what size heads are you using? how deep are the fish you're trying to catch? how clean is the water? What speed retrieve? Are you counting it down or starting to reel as soon as hits the water?
Here's a link to the temps and oxygen levels from the corps site. Where the oxygen ends the thermocline ends.

maybe a mount for a transducer since it's below the water line. That way you don't have to go through the transom with any screws. And if that's not what it IS for then that's what I would use it...

If you don't have any luck finding someone in BG I'm in E-town and I repair and build customs. I'm pretty backed up right now so it'll take a little while for me to do it but I'd be glad to help if...
Bass pro carries a water proofer (redhead). I use it on my hiking boots, rain suits or pretty whatever I want to be water proofed. They sell it for 4.99 and it works great.
LOL this is just funny. The corps will at least try to get the lakes down to winter pool again but like said above they have to wait until the ohio comes down some to start. With just a little bit...
IMO the best parts of Nolin are from Ponderosa up to Wax. Not saying there aren't any good places to fish down lake but there's a lot MORE up lake. There's 30 or so really good spots in there...
There are several good tutorials on net for building and repairing rods. Rebuilding a rod isn't that difficult it just takes some practice and the right tools to get it right. I absolutely would...
VERY simple once you get the trick to it. NO harder than "regular" sized guides actually.
Just for the info, smaller fish are MUCH more prolific when it comes to spawning. Big, old fish don't produce anywhere near as many eggs.
Beautiful fish!!
The foxy shad and sexy shad colors will work just fine too, especially under the bright moon. Lot of money got won last summer with those at night. Make sure whatever you're using has rattles and...
I build rods and almost exclusively use micro's. A rod that's built properly with micro's will always outcast a rod built the "normal" sized guides in the same conditions. I know this because I've...
put just a thin layer of vaseline on your hands before you put the exam gloves on and it will get rid of that chill you're talking about.
What size jig are you using? What size line? How old is the line? what kind is the line? lol Fishing deep takes some getting use to. As said above you should really try a longer rod. Longer rod...
Jimmy there's a big money one Saturday on Nolin. It's a charity Tourney with a $3000 guarantee from what I was told (the guy that told me has a wife that works for the place that is putting it on). ...
Never heard of a lighted buoy. If you use black lights paint the buoy with flourescent spray paint. Works great.
The older carrot sticks were prone to breakage. Very light and sensitive with cheaper components. The reel seat is said to reduce weight but it it actually weighs more than a fugi ECS blank exposed...
outstanding!
This is a pretty good tourney to fish Keith. Jerry and Jeremy Spainhoward (sp?) run it and do a really nice job. Good bunch of guys to fish with.
With all do respect Tomo I completely disagree about them not doing much on casting type rods as well. The added casting distance and ease of casting is really pretty dramatic. I've used them on...
ULfisher, micro guides really are everything that you've read about. I build rods and all of the rods that build, except for 1 person, are built with micro guides. The finished rods are...
Ever caught a 10" fish on a 6 or 7" lizard or a 6" fish on 3 or 4" crankbait, yes of course, we all have. If you fish a lake with a good supply of 2-3 lb bass that 7" dinger will come in handy in...
Depending on when you're going moutardier or brier creek in the State Park will be your best bets. If you're going next weekend you will probably be able to use Wax by then.

I use an arkie head jig for it with a twin tail trailer rather than a chunk type. The way the arkie head is shaped seems to go through the grass a little better. Just lift the tip until...
I've never caught them during the summer stroking a jig and have never tried frankly but I fish Dale Hollow in the fall and that's a great way to catch them out of the grass there. We're usually...
uhh scratch that Nolin idea it's just as high as rough now. lol
Here you go. http://www.kentuckylake.tv/
Nolin will be ok down lake. There is always a debris line that starts around wax or maybe a little further down lake but it won't go very far until they start pulling the lake down. Then the wood...
Post it on photobucket or some other hosting site then post a link to the pic.
Me and a buddy were thinking about fishing the FFA Tourney but that won't happen now lol. Rough is still coming up and will be muddy up river until they start pulling it, which should start by the...
