Anyone driven by the lake and know what condition it’s in? Frozen, muddy, good shape? TIA
I know it's not a Kentucky show but one that I really like is Fishing Florida Radio. May not be for everyone but the hosts make me laugh and they usually talk a lot about freshwater and saltwater...
Going to get out tomorrow, does anyone know the water color of either lake? Debating on which to go to. I'll most likely launch at Holmes Bend or Axtel but will make run to find good water. Thanks in...
Anyone have a Rough River crappie report or know what the water looks like. Saw its risen 10' and assume it's muddy or heavily stained but was hoping for confirmation before I drive down tomorrow....
My personal favorite is a 10' B'n'M Sam Heaton super sensitive paired with a 25 or 30 series spinning reel (pfluger or shimano) and 6-8 lb high vis line.
Went tues. Same results as everyone else is having. Fished Tules Creek. Caught a ton but only managed 12 keepers. On the plus side, did have a couple 11 1/2"-12" fish with have been scarce the...
What part of the lake were you fishing?
Not trying to be sarcastic but did you make sure them I'll switch was engaged and the boat not in gear. Just easy "doh" items to ensure. One other place to check may be a blown fuse. My motor had...
Thanks Pastor
Anyone have any info?
McNeeley Lake has some decent gills
No. Don't even waste your time driving over there. Peter cave and Everliegh are pretty dry after the drawdown. Unless you have a skiff and push pole I don't think you'll be able to launch
Do you sell them by the pound or the dozen? What's your price?
Haven't tried the costa's yet but have had a couple pair of Maui Jim sports. They are so amazing. The only problem is they are so light you forget they are on your head or face and that's how I've...
I saw a picture of it, it looked fake but not totally sure.
There is no limit of rods in Kentucky. Indiana you can only use 3/person. I don't think there is a limit in Tennessee either.
A buddy and I went up to the hydros from greenwood for the first time a couple weeks ago. Needless to say it was pretty interesting. My first mistake was anchoring to close to the wall on 50' or so...
I don't the the issue here is did he brake the law because as it turns out, according to you there was 2 people and they kept 45 fish. Fine no law broken. The issue is you said they caught a limit,...
You are allowed to fish the mouth and all of harrods creek. You are not allowed to fish in captains quarters marina. The marina is right past the mouth of the creek. They have big warning signs...
I rode over there last weekend and it is low. Didn't have a pole with just walked around. I know in the past when i was over there it was super easy to get a trashcan slam all day (drum, buffalo,...
Here's a pic of your old man with a nice silver bass from rough Saturday. :D

Doesn't get any better than Andy's red cornmeal breeding at the grocery store. If you like spicy try mixing half Cajun/ half red. Don't even have to make egg wash, just pat dry and dip in breading...

Hey Scott. I think I'm coming down tomorrow. Has the water warmed up any? I see they're pulling some water.
What is this tules riffles you speak of?
I'm going to try to attend
I was there yesterday. My camp is right next to the bridge at northfork and it was solid there. I would have to guess the rest of the lake is the same
I don't know what your bankroll is but I went out with these guys last year ou of Destin FL and they were 1st class. http://www.backdown2.com/ Only did a 8 hr snapper trip with them but was talking...
Used in HB 997. Works perfect. Just wanting to upgrade to platinum. $60 obo

Anyone know how frozen the lake is and will any part be fishable saturday the 29th.
I would be interested for sure. Never been a tourney fisherman. Here are the crappie USA rules. Seems like a good format to me. http://www.crappieusa.com/Tournament_Rules.cfm
No. Axtel and Laurel Branch are
All I can tell you is I'll be at your house sunday morning to pick you up and we'll go after that one that broke your pole a couple weeks ago
My grandfather used to take us to the spillway at rough all the time as a kid to trout fish. Used to use the smallest hooks and garlic cheese to catch them. Heard canned corn works as well
Was down sat. Water temps 38. Color was pretty clear. No ice. Fished around northfork
Went Saturday. Water temps were 36. North fork and axtel were muddy. Put in at state dock and water was much more clear. Lots of debris in the water. Saw a lot of boats out. Fishing was slow for me...
Anyone know if the lake is thawed out
Assuming the water I'd still up high. With the fluctuating water levels recently it's been tough down there. Slayed um a couple weeks ago and last weekend only caught 6
Humminbird 997c SI. Purchased at Bass Pro September of 08'. Like new only used 10 times. Comes with Hotmaps Premium card, extra sd memory card, and RAM Swing arm mount. Unit is in perfect...
Last Sunday Rough River temps were 46 in the North Fork area. Going again this weekend hopefully the water has cleared up, was pretty muddy last week.
Stayed at Irvin Cobb in Nov. Small cottage but adequate and close to the water. They even have a covered dock to park you boat in. I would recommend.
According to http://www.lrl.usace.army.mil/wc/reports/lkreport.html its only 1.5' over winter pool. Haven't been down in a few weeks but it was only 1inch over last time I was.
There's a sign in front of the River Shack at North Fork that says their holding it until Oct. 20. Maybe the fish will start biting before then. Been the last few weekends and can't seem to find...
Reelfoot Lake in Tenn. has a lot of Bowfin. Rough River has a lot of gar, don't know about the different colors but has some huge ones. Saw about a hundred or so in one small area last week some...
Hey BCWader where are the best spots to access Brashears Creek. Is it wadeable or easily fished from the bank. Thanks
Is the Boat still for sale and do you have any pics?
David is absolutely correct. I ate a couple of crappie one time out of McNeely and then saw the signs and i won't do it again. If you walk around the lake they are posted every so often.
Went down last weekend. Caught them in 3-6 ft, small coves. Redworms and black jigs worked great. Fished in Blood River the whole time. Caught 100+.
