When the water temp is 48-50 degrees, they usually start running.
I would like to see this board going back to allow for guest to post replies. This board has really slowed down from a year or two ago. It seems hard to get any info anymore. Whether it was from...
Here they are for 6.95, http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/catpage-chatter.html.
email me at rosiviperz@aol.com. and i can tell you some access points/boat ramps on the holston river below the HAAP.
There is some for sale in elizabethton, about 2 hours from there. Most of the striper fisherman who used to use them around here went back to shad. Even when the sripers run up the rivers, their...
The largemouth are spawning
Anybody have any chrome jointed thundersticks for sale?
I have two of those 7" holographic knuckleheads, one new and unopened in the box. If anyone is near the tri-cities area and wants a couple, i give both of them away for $10.
There's a BFL tournement down there this weekend.
Thanks Stonewall, I plan on going after them this weekend. It stays a little cooler up here in the mountains so Im a hoping that will stall them a little longer.
Anyone catching any walleye in east tn?

Looks like this might be the real thing
25.1 lbs.
went this afternoon from 11-2 and had 4 keepers, never had a bite on a jerkbait. Water was around 54 deg.
Sorry, I'm not familiar with the area myself, I'm from Johnson City. It's not hard, I believe the exit you take is labeled Douglas Dam.
We went below Douglas dam, just cast out in the current and hold on. Just keep your bait off the bottom or it will be lost. I went through maybe 20 1/4oz bucktails, but getting down deep was what...
I went sauger fishing down there last week and caught alot of whitebass on white bucktails.
Who cares its a carp! ha (joke) I disagree i think that genetic anomoly is common from species to species. You wouldn't compare a spotted bass to a largemouth, or a black-nose crappie to a white...
There may be a couple on this web site.. http://mrriver.com/records.html
The white bass were running good today. Also got 5-6 walleye in the boat. White jigs tipped with minnows was the ticket today. There were lots of crappie being caught as well.
There was a bunch caught below the campground a about a week and a half ago with 1/4 oz jigs tipped with minnows. Thats just from what i hear, i haven't been down there in a month.
A johnbot is about the only way to go, they haven't been running much water through the holston lately. The walleye/saugers are now running from what i hear.
The walleye run should be real soon. I'll be out there this weekend
update: frogg toggs sent me a new pair of the camo rainwear, so i trusted them and fished all day sunday in the rain. Result: I was soaking wet from head to toe. My bud had a pair of the 100 mph...
What would be everyone's choice on a wakebait? They're gaining some popularity here in east tn.
i think i heard rumor that national striper tournement was won up there in that area a couple weeks ago.
I wouldn't recommend the frogg toggs, I bought a pair a couple weeks ago and tryed them; results.. tore the pants seam, got wet through the jacket and im sending them back. I've heard alot of good...
I feel that Ranger Boats, Inc is not the one needing the title.
I have heard the striper and sauger run up to the dam in late january. Its just one of those places you have to time just right.
What kind of ranger title are you looking for?
i have to ask.. what for?
It was my first time out there, we caught 2 smallies during heavy rain and saw a couple of fisherman on the bank catching a couple on minnows. From what i see it gets fished pretty hard.
I've had more luck fishing banks on boone with large limestone boulders rather than the steep bluffs where the fnf is traditionally fished, I never go without the minnows either. good luck
yes, i fished it for the first time monday, you can take a boat all the way up to the dam, the only thing is that you must wear a life jacket up above the ramp. There is a public ramp at the steam...
fnf is on, but had more luck tightlining the fly tipped with a minnow
I'm looking forward to the float-n-fly this year, is the water temp getting close yet?
has anyone fished at standing stone lake in the standing stone national forest? Ill be spending some time there this spring and would like to know if its worth hauling a boat down there, thanks
same here, im 20 mins away. It has a good number of spotted bass and i always here of some monster smallies coming out of there every year. walleye fishing over there is my pick, it usually picks up...
did anyone make it to the bass pro opener today?
I wish you the best of luck, we need need a good sportings store in the tri-cities.
shiners..its a bait thats hardy, stays out of the rocks, easy to get, easy to keep alive, and catches lots of fish.. the spring lizard is my all time fav for the spawn though, but getting them can be...
