Here in Iowa yesterday morning the temp was 20 below with a -55 degree wind chill. One thing I noticed when I moved from KY was that cold there was a discomfort the cold here can kill ya lol. Guess...
Best of luck too you. I moved to Iowa about three years ago and I love it. But on the flip side I don't care for hot weather and my true passion is bow hunting whitetails. And Iowa is the premier...
Get Strader too talk about it on his show Fish&Wildlife just love ole Jim ;)
The point I was making was lawn mowers and a lot of other engines were not designed too run on unleaded fuel so they where phased out. I wasn't getting into the political side of it am not going too...
Kinda same thing happened for those that are old enough too remember when they phased out leaded gasoline.
Never have tried the protectors but did have a new skeg welded on about year and half ago on a 150 Johnson and it was right at 300 bucks too have done.
That surprises me seems like a huge liability. use to drive past it all the time when I lived in KY out off of Gene Snyder.
Kind of why I cringe when I see people give their kids plastic baits to play with probably not the best thing for young kids to be handling. Maybe harmless I don't know.
Before I sold my land in KY I had a 4 acre pond on it and even though it was fun too fish I always preferred fishing a bigger body of water. I don't know if it is more of the challenge of figuring...
I would go here http://www.bbcboards.net/ and scroll down to the motor section and find your brand then pose your question. Sometimes just getting a outboard running doesn't mean all is well. With...
Is this the equivalent in the fishing world of trading in the sports car for the station wagon? ;)
The show were he was fishing at Chernobyl was pretty freaky.
Yep that works too if it is a bad relay which was my case. wonder how many know you can do that or where the relays are located?
It would not trim up which could be a problem for trailering your boat home. Which got me thinking how many people running bigger outboards know how to release the pressure on the trim if it should...
I have ordered a lot of stuff from TW as well and am sure there are some blade baits that work just as well. I have had a lot of luck on the Reef runner cicada but I also like the original SB and it...
I had already ordered some but will keep this in the back of my mind for in the future.
Was wanting too buy some silver buddys can't find them anywhere wasn't sure they was still making them.http://www.silverbuddy.com/categories
Thanks for the tips.
Something I have always done anytime I am towing the boat and stop for gas or a bite to eat or whatever I always like too feel each hub and make sure they are not overly warm. which could possibly...
Yep kinda like going to a lake and saying am going to fish different, like deep water structure. And then falling right back into that old familiar pattern that you have confidence in cause you...
What bait do you wish you could be more proficient with and gain more confidence in using? Mine would have too be spoons especially vertical jigging.
Is this the lake at the resort that you can fish but you have to have a guide take you out on? If it is the one I am thinking of you cannot fish it unless you go through a guide and like everything...
I was told by a trapper that in creeks during low water periods they can be very detrimental too the fish population.
Thats funny you mention Western Auto I was thinking of them the other day I remember going and looking at the fishing tackle and the whole section would smell of anise. Western Auto is where I got my...
I only have you by 5 years, don't no about the regional thing here is a pic I found though.http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4693807608499246&pid=1.7&w=236&h=168&c=7&rs=1
When the old Mustad hooks came in the little cardboard box? Was thinking about fishing as a kid and I always remember the hooks being in those little boxes.
Blue green algae naturally occurs, my guess would be with all the rain you had a lot more fertilizer from farm runoff get into the lake which compounded the problem.
I didn't mean you lol, I meant the tourny guys they should have just fished elsewhere. Besides I bet if they would have just been decent about it and asked you would have probably gladly given them...
One thing about it is whether you are fishing public water or hunting public land everyone has a fair share at it and even though you may not like it you should be man enough too keep your mouth shut...
Sorry to here of your run ins, cause if your like me after a incident like that you keep replaying it in your mind and stewing on it till it ruins your day. Like I use too tell my kids don't worry...
I no longer live in KY so I don't make it down to KY lake anymore but the places mentioned sure brought back a lot of fond memories.
I think the Hybrid is a cross between a green sunfish and a bluegill.
As far as the weather goes the abnormal is the new normal, I think that is what you can expect from here on out. jmo
Somebody from that area needs to do a little sting operation a little set and wait. And then let the fun begin, they will be back.
I would add a decent pair of polarized sun glasses.
Could be worse could hang one of these up.

Congrats, a quick question if you could only throw one bait this time of year what would it be?
You forgot to mention a very important detail. TRIM the motor up.;)
You need to hold up on the thumb bar when you reassemble it.
What tricks do you guys use when you can't get schooling whites to hit the usual baits with any type of consistency.Have you ever seen it when they just about ignored every thing you threw at em? The...
I will agree with that 100 percent.
I have always liked Shimano reels, my bait casters have always performed very well for me but I haven't had as good of luck with my spinning reels. So I bought a new spinning reel and this time went...
Father in law had a merc years ago did about the same thing. A mouse had chewed the insulation off of a wire and it kept shorting out.
Seems this is starting to be the norm I'am afraid.
Never hurts to stop and smell the roses regardless where your at. Lord knows it's a short ride.
I just moved out of state and the moving company that moved us also moved my boat. They loaded it in the back of the semi using a roll back trailer it was a tight fit to say the least width wise. As...
[QUOTE=Oldlures;446153]Any of these baits mentioned are available at the Kentucky area Lure Swap Meets that are held in late Winter. At the Taylorsville Lure Swap Meet, I know that there were the...
