Yep, that's a beautiful place! I've spent the last 20 or so years floating green river and fishing from the dam all the way to mammoth cave. It an awesome smallmouth stream. It's a great way to beat...
Yes they are! I have the Nucli-eye extreme and it's more than enough for 2 people to fish. Just put it midway of the boat and go. Plus the bright blue lights can be turned on and you can see the bank...
That was the biggest limit I've ever brought to the scales. Pretty exciting to say the least!
Anywhere there's water and big fish!
Barren was 42-48 today depending on where you were. Fish were biting pretty decent too.
What depth do you do best on this time of the year?
Barren and Nolin have a good population. I don't fish for them much but I'd put trotlines in the rivers and bait with big chubs or bluegill.
Do any of you on the sunny/partly sunny days fish banks that are not in the shade? I haven't but sometimes it's hard to find shade in the middle of the day.
Find some shade and use a plain duckfeather. Stay back away as far as you can... I had luck the other day fishing a 10' leader.
Thanks, I guess I'll just wait until Thursday. Supposed to be in the 40s then and cloudy. I've yet to get a good bite going on the fnf. Had a few fish here and there but the jig has been best for me...
Ok, I'm confused. Did you catch fish today or not?LOL!! I'm about to go out tomorrow and freeze my you know what off unless you're kidding in the other post!
I sent you a pm
WOW!!! That's an awesome day! I may go down in the morning. How deep were you fishing your fly?
I have a friend that's looking for a nonboater. Send me an email and I'll get you the # for him. andydan96@alltel.net
I wouldn't advise using any latex or rubber glove. Your hands will sweat. You're better off to get you some good goretex gloves. I take a hot hands warmer and put it inside my gloves against the back...
I went this past monday and had 5 on a fnf and 3 more pull downs all in a 30 yard stretch. It was on a long point that had grass. I was 10' down using a baby blue/chart fly. It was snowing on me...
No, but I caught one on a jig a few weeks ago and it had a shiner hook sticking out of its throat deep hooked. Still bleeding! That was one hungry smallie. As for flys, I've never had one break off...
I caught a lm at dale in early November and it was 23 1/2" and weighed 6lb 1oz on some very accurate scales. It was thick! If his bass had any gut at all its 9lbs easy.
How far above summer pool is it? The corp site hasn't updated and I'm trying to figure out if they will stop pulling it before the weekend.
Depending on where you are there are several streams you could wade.
I think they had about .6"
I haven't used one but from all reports I read they are. I will be purchasing a Nucli-eye this summer. It will provide more light than 2 conventional lights and has a 160 degree beam.
18.5lb 40" muskie at Green on a #7 shadrap using a 6.5' spinning rod and 10lb test.
When will this take effect?
I'd like to know what the water looked like up the river, main lake and skaggs if anybody was there this weekend. I'm going in the morning and trying to plan on where to put in. Don't want to go up...
I'd go to barren and fish where the warmer water is coming in. Don't be afraid to fish dirty water.
The color is stained and it's 3.2' below summer pool.
Watch out for muskie! I was bass fishin' the other day and caught a 40" on a 6.5' spinning rod and 10lb test!
He's the best!!!!!!!!!!!
Fished all day. From up wolf river to mitchell creek. One 2lbs smallmouth and a bluegill. I guess I just don't know how to catch em' after warm weather hits. :-(
Sure! This will be my last trip to Dale probably. After that I'll live on Barren every week!
I wasn't fishing for them but I was fishing a wind blown main lake bank for lm using a orange crawfish #7 shadrap and caught 4 but they were mostly small. Talk about a fighting fish! I had one hit a...
I'll be going Thursday so I can report back how I do.
I plan on taking a fnf rod too. I'd like to have one more good smallie day before the spring largemouth bite kicks in full swing.
I caught one about 4lbs on Barren the other day. Talk about yummy!!!!!
I was thinking about going to Dale this week but I've never been except in the dead of winter. I've heard a jerkbait does well in the spring. Is it too early or could I get one to hit a jerkbait? I'd...
I fished 8 hours and mainly fished main lake point and pockets.
I went today and caught about 15 largemouth. 5 over 15", 3 or 4 14" and the rest dinks. I did catch on flathead on a jig. All of the lm were on a crankbait.
Here's the biggest on from today. the...
I did fish today, yesterday too!
Bring some spinnerbaits and tubes/jigs! Maybe a rattletrap or two!
If you want to catch some largemouth just run up the wolf river. Water was warmer up there and stained. We got bit flippin' cover with a black/blue jig but I'd say a jerkbait or crank would do well....
McMahan's taxidermy in Campbellsville,ky
This is a pic of one I had done. 6lb 6oz. I think it cost close to $175 but it looks awesome!

just regular jig. natural color.
Fished until lunch and we boated about 12-15 in the 15-20" range. Had half that many break off or pull off. Not too bad. Caught on points on jigs.
Going down for a few hours. I hear it's down. Anybody been this past weekend and know what the scoop is? What's the surface temp like? I'll probably toss a fly, crank or buddy....just hope for a tug...
just over 5lbs
I just ordered a bunch of float n' fly stuff! :D
Anybody know what it is?
