Yes. Thanks
I saw 59 degree water temp at Nolin and crappie were absolutely full of eggs. I assume some have already started with the majority not far behind. The cold weather forecasted this week might put them...
Thanks. I believe this is my third year still running the original license. I will try to get one printed soon.
I don't believe 6cyl vs 8cyl really matters. My 6cyl Ecoboost has a higher towing capacity than an 8cyl. You will obviously feel a big difference going from a truck to a lighter SUV.

I have 5 Curado 100B reels for sale. I would like to sell these for $100 each plus shipping or $450 for the lot with free shipping, if not local. All reels have been cleaned, greased, and oiled....

They will eat a white spinnerbait if you swim it right in front of them. Quite a bit of fun actually.
In my opinion, a fishfinder would definitely help. I have been looking to buy one since I bought my first kayak in July, but haven't pulled the trigger on one just yet. Between the Helix 5, Lowrance...
I agree with Dunhams. They have a lot of stuff in store that isn't online, as well. You can get 20% off if it isn't a Perception. I'm really new to it, but I wouldn't get anything over 10' for him....
yup $5. Pretty much all the ramps on Nolin have a fee. There are a few smaller ones that don't though.
Thanks, SLP. It is the Pescador Pro 120 and measures right at 12'. I have a 230cm Carlisle Magic Plus paddle so there is definitely a possibility of needing longer since I'm 6'2" and the kayak is...
Had an early start this morning and was sitting on a small lake in KY at 5AM cst! The yak is going to take some getting used to, but it was so easy to load and get set up in.
I have to get a few...
Thanks for the advice everyone. I actually went with a Perception Pescador Pro 12.0. Dunham’s is having a huge sale and I saved about $140. Planning on hitting the water tomorrow and will post a...
As much as I would love to have a Hobie, I can't seem to justify the extra expense. I will likely only use it 15-20 times a year depending on my work schedule.
I am looking into buying a fishing kayak and hoped to get some different opinions on what is needed. A little about me. I am 6’2”, 180lbs and stay relatively active through work. My primary uses...
What were the weights?
Nice ones! I've never been to Cumberland either.
Unless I'm seeing something different, it shows that GRL only has an advisory for bottom feeders. Crappie fall under the statewide once per week, while bass are once per month, that is if you are not...
Pretty much what smashdn said. If you know the river you can safely run about anywhere. I was there 2 weeks ago and watched a guy plane his boat out going all the way past browns ford, even through...
I am assuming it is a baitcaster and my advice would be NO. They come with plenty of oil and lube in them. Make sure if you do to not mess with oiling the drag components
Besides the Hatfield Inn in Leitchfield, there are not many hotels. It is a nice place, but not as close to the lake as a cabin. I'm sure you could stay at the resort right next to the lake as well.
Went today and fished from 7-3. Everything was caught south of Moutardier, but it seemed everywhere we stopped we would catch at least one. Between my dad and I we caught a little over 30. Mostly...
Sorry to tell you all this but Derby General Store has been closed down for over a month. The community is hoping to get a co-op type store up and going in the future.
Patoka is definitely a tough place to fish unless you have a lot of time to explore. I've had a few decent trips fishing for bass and crappie. Instead of using crickets, try bee moths, they are much...
I'm going to go way out on a limb and guess you aren't the most intelligent person in southern Indiana. On another note when creating a thread maybe be a bit more descriptive in the title, instead of...
That's crazy considering everything else is really high. With this upcoming week having warm temperatures and more rain hopefully that ice will melt off! When the Ohio river is high I enjoy going...
Stopped in today at Cabelas and picked up a pack of Bobby Garland Baby Shad and Slab Slay'r. Also bought some chartreuse and pink jig heads. Rigged a few up when I got home and got me even more...
#2 Aberdeen gold hook. HAHA thanks for the correction and also the advice! A lot of the crappie fishing we do is trolling from stumps to treetops and repeat. (you know the strategy) I would assume...
Thanks for the replies! Minnows will always be king until I start having some success with jigs. I've looked into jigheads and a couple of the different trailers from Bobby Garland. A lot of crappie...
I'm looking for some advice on what types of jigheads and trailers work best for crappie in the Ohio River tributaries. Up until this point my father and I have only used a 2/0 gold hook with a...
For me, it is finding new places to fish. Moving full time from southern Indiana to BG has had its ups and downs. Definitely going to fish barren river and some other small places. Cant wait!!
Went today and fished from the state park to Iberia. Tried going up the lake for only the second time and it wasnt that bad. Couldn't really find much of a pattern, but ended up catching around 20....
Managed to get out today and found some nice bluegill and sunfish on beds. Caught a lot of small ones but managed to catch enough big ones to bring home. Lake was crowded with pleasure boats and a...
I'm not familiar with the lake at all so don't take my word for it. According to the map I'm on, it says the location is Butler Creek. They put up a hell of a fight haha
Went to Green today and also got onto some musky early this morning while bass fishing. One was on a 3xd and the other was on a shad rap. Fun times to say the least.
Was able to fish Nolin Sunday with good results. My dad brought the boat down from Indiana and I drove up from WKU. Launched from Moutardier and fished from there to the dam. Tried out our new bow...
Minn Kota Endura C2 Trolling Motor for sale.55 Lb thrust with a 42" shaft, runs off of a 12V battery. This was used for crappie fishing and was bought in 2013, prop is dinged up but still works...
Decided to stay with Shimano for another year and go with the chronarch ci4. Was able to save $50 at bps so got a nice reel at a good price. Hopefully I will like it a lot!
I also posted on BBC, but I'm looking for some advice on a new reel. Right now I am a big fan of Shimano, but have never tried a Lews. I have the Curado 200E and a Chronarch 200E and looking to add...
I went out this evening below the Cannelton locks and didnt catch any. the water looked really good though. that being said it was the first time i have ever been sauger fishing. I was using a...
I enjoy reading the articles on a monthly basis. I know they usually have a lot of good deals if you want to get it for an extended period of time. Free tackle and good tips about fishing are...
The only thing I would recommend is a 6.4:1 Pro Qualifier reel with a 6'9 Carbonlite rod. As a combo it comes out to $159 which is a pretty good deal. I think it would work well for your lipless...
its a bit ridiculous that snagging them is not legal but whatever. had a smaller. one only 14 lbs, jump in the boat a little while back. thought it was going to break a few rods when it jumped in. ...
congrats on the fish. i was out friday fishing around the derby area on the main river and could not get a bite. the water was a little more murky than the last time i had caught fish. since i...
managed to get out on the lake friday 6/28 and was able to catch 6 bass. tried out a whole new area on the east side of the lake so i wasnt too dissapointed. fishing was just really slow. all the...
I started working in Evansville about a month ago for my summer internship and just now getting around to asking this question. Are there any lakes/ponds within 20 minutes or so on the east side...
Caught the bass back in the winter and just caught the crappie a couple weeks ago. The bass was almost 6 lbs with the crappie being over 15 inches. Both are personal bests. Good Luck!
