Great fish!
Well, my wife and I made it out on the boat about 5 times, and fished from the bank 5 or 10 more this year. That's more fishing that I'd done the last 20 years combined.
BUT, if I could I'd be on...
I didn't take it that way at all. I was just sharing the reviews I'd read. Do you keep your batteries at full charge? I'd think that would help extend their life. Then again, I don't get to fish...
Well I'll go against the grain. I needed 2 new trolling batteries and 1 new cranking battery for our boat this past spring. I searched for reviews and Deka consistently got high reviews. Much...
Text sent.
This goes along with an earlier post about blues in the Ohio. I saw this on a catfishing site and thought I'd share here. No idea whether it will do any good but can't hurt.

Unfortunately that's probably illegal. I'm pretty sure you can catch a fish in state waters and release it in your pond, but that it's illegal to do the opposite.
Here's something that made my...
Congrats! He's a beauty!
I agree completely with that statement. I do place the blame squarely on pay lakes, but where do they get these trophy cats? Most don't come from the regular Joe Fisherman.
And your point is? The resource is there for EVERYONE to enjoy, not to be raped and pillaged by a few for a paycheck. There needs to be a complete ban. I don't understand why catfish aren't...
In the past I've watched that same KET station out of Owensboro that Moveon mentioned. Great show, and Tim was always a great host to watch. I always appreciated his quiet humble approach. He will...
Great fish, congrats!
Thanks 70worm. I do plan to try that area.
My wife and I tried our hand at fishing for blue cats in the Ohio yesterday for the first time ever. We put in at Grandview, IN and fished in the general area of the ramp. Air temp was 63 and water...
I need one so I checked the tire size on my old Nitro trailer last night. Wrong size unfortunately. Mine are P205/75 R14. I was hoping yours would work.
The carpet in my boat needs replaced badly, as in it's worn completely through in several places. If I decide to do it myself (not sure yet), I will probably get my materials here:...
Can you cut a wedge from treated wood and mount the pedal to the wedge? Or for better looks and weather resistance have one fabricated from aluminum?
There is also the Mano Point ramp, just east of Derby on Hwy 66. It is about 100 yards upstream of the mouth of Oil Creek.

No pictures because things didn't work out for us to go. We had a couple of hours to kill so we fished a friend's lake and caught several 5 inch bluegill. Nothing to eat but it was just a gorgeous...
If I had the time I'd go into the reel cleaning business! :D
I'm sure you'll get a few replies with hopefully local shops that can do it. I replied to say that I too have several Abu Garcia Ambassadeurs and some old spincast reels that need cleaned, but I...
:D Now if you come to Holiday World you have a place for him/her to stay and play!
My wife and I own Santa Paws Pet Park. http://www.santapawspetpark.com
The trip is now a question mark. Waiting to see if one of our kennel assistants will be able to watch the business Sunday afternoon. If we go I'll be sure to post pics, even if we get skunked. :) ...
Great fish! Do you give lessons?! :D
Does anyone think the water temps will be cool enough for the crappie to be biting yet in Deer Creek or Oil Creek near the Ohio River?
Riverrat I need you to teach me how to catch these monsters! Another great fish!
Never knew that. I'll have to check it out. I have "a few" older Abus. :D Still love them despite their age!
Sounds awesome, good luck!
It would appear the old saying "wind from the east, fish bite the least" is true! We didn't get ONE SINGLE bite! We still had a great time though. The weather was beautiful, we got to explore new...
Well that stinks for the community. When we were down a few weeks ago it looked like the restaurant was doing well. Quite a crowd there.
We're going to bypass the minnows this trip and try just the jigs for convenience. Thanks for all your help.
Picked up 3 different colors of jigs and a few different plastics last night to try. Now Saturday just needs to get here.
Thanks 70worm!
Nice fish 70worm!
Toomany, do you have better luck with a bare jig, or jig tipped with minnow?
Thanks toomany! I've never fished a jig under a bobber so that will be a learning experience. Sounds like I need to do some bass fishing too.
Good luck! My wife and I caught 15 bluegill in our farm pond last night and they're now in the fridge....soon to be in our bellies. Planning to spend most of this Saturday on the boat drowning...
Congrats! I can only dream what that fight was like!
Thanks King. Work and kids (mostly kids) have been the reason for the long hiatus, but the kids are now teenagers and it's easier to get away now and then. I see you're from Derby. My wife and I...
Congrats! I have to admit though, without my glasses I can't tell what it is on my phone. Carp or catfish? Huge fish either way and a lot of fun!
The town, not the guy with the white beard. :D New to the forum, and getting back into fishing after 25+ years of being "too busy". I know, when you're too busy to fish, you're just too busy.
