Looking for some help. I've tried a couple of times with very limited success.
I've been buying my umbrella rigs from them for years. They make the best ones that I've ever used and they catch fish! You can't beat Charisma's customer service either!
flitterbait from Smacktackle.....catches anything that swims.
I've only had one warranty claim in 30 years. I broke a 6 year old All Star rod and they replaced with no questions asked.
Fish were caught 4 to 5 feet deep over less than 30ft of water.
I got 2 on Thursday in Beaver. We had to leave as the snow started flying and were afraid we wouldn't get the boat home. Good thing we left when we did. LOL....man was it cold!
How cold was it Thursday morning? 10? 12? I almost didn't get the boat home in the snow.
I've been using this bait for a few months and I can tell you it flat catches everything that swims! I've even caught a few white bass on it from Cumberland. I hadn't caught a white bass there in 7...
Stay in the heads of the creeks....fish are there. I would suggest going to Backwaters today before they close and pick up a couple of flitterbaits. The fish are keying on very small shad. We have...
We catch quite a few of them using bottom bouncers and spinner rigs with crawler harnesses in the summer and fall. You would be surprised at how shallow they are in the evenings or on a day with a...
Yeah, I have been catching quite a few fish on them, including a 24 lber on that little bait.
Fished yesterday and today. 57 where I'm fishing. 100 yards away it's 63.
Hey Justin, it was good to meet you this afternoon. You might want to try that little area I told you about. We have caught some quality fish there this week. Looks like I'll be fishing in the...
I had been really struggling lately. Had a friend in town that loves to striper fish. We were catching a few, but they were small. A big thanks to Noah Lacher and Justin Hall for pointing me in...
Monroe, most of my fish were caught on a flitterbait!
Killed them the last 3 days with some big fish included. Shad not needed. Fishing is very good right now if you can be at the right place at the right time....think jumps.
Boone and JustinHall check your pm. Justin, thanks for the help. I'll give that a try as well.
Same here....just make sure you let the water drain before you tow home when it is cold. Fished last year and the temp was 15 degrees when I put the boat in.
It's rained on me the last 4 times I've went. LOL....going tomorrow...it will rain again.
We caught a few. We had about 15 minutes of action and then 5 hours of nothing. LOL. Typical striper fishing this time of year. We only had 1 keeper out of 6 fish.
thanks guys. We fished those flats across from Indian today. LOL...... If you guys need a crappie spot, yell.
Have a friend here from out of state and he has 2 days left to striper fish before he has to return home. We' really struggled today due to my lack of time on the water lately. Can anyone point us...
Justin were you in a black or dark blue boat??? I was up that way on Friday as well.
Fished Thursday. Main lake flats less than 30 ft deep. The fish are very aggressive right now.
Stripers are were biting very well yesterday in less than 30 ft of water.
I've pulled a boat out of state several times....been stopped for speeding several times. KY does not require a plate so you will not need one in any state.
The wife and I donated $1000 yesterday to KET to help with on air programming. We asked that it be used for KY Afield. We love to see what Tim is up to every week.
Multiple hook ups are very common for us so we only fish with 2 rods on the boat now. We usually troll u-rigs and it is fairly common to catch 2 on the same rod at the same time. We used 4 rods for...
I had an old All Star that I broke a couple of years ago. Loved the rod...they replaced it no questions asked.
Get the reels with counters. I troll for stripers on Cumberland and it makes it much easier to stay at a consistent depth.
I may be wrong, but I think some of these boats ran in the 200 mph range on the OH river during Derby week.
Well, if you are fishing for stripers, try the creeks, look for clay banks, and throw slivers, little macs, or gizz 4's...did pretty well last week.
MHall..you get it brother....work them like a jerk bait. I like the shallow divers as well. Caught a 7.5 smallmouth on a black pearl last year while striper fishing. Released it for Elnut to catch.
LOL...sorry guys...been working. Catching some fish on slivers and some on Gizz 4's.
Didn't get to fish all night as we had a limit by 11.
On like donkey kong. Think clay banks.
Ace, you probably won't need any more help as the fish are in those spots right now.
By upper lake I mean the 312 bridge area. I would try that for numbers....for big fish I would actually fish Holly Bay to the dam, or to Line Creek. Also try Spruce Creek during the spring.
I've caught plenty of walleye on Laurel. I've even netted a 13 lber. You should be fishing RIGHT NOW. The walleye should be very active feeding on the small rainbows that were recently stocked. ...
Catching mine mostly on U rigs.
They are red hot right now if you find them. Killed them Friday and this morning. (wasn't allowed to fish yesterday) LOL. Thanks Al, if you see this!
You should be fine, even if it rains here a couple of days. We've managed to catch 6 the last 2 mornings, but they were all on the main lake.
This is going to sound strange as small baits were the ticket earlier this winter. We caught our fish on 2 ounce jigs with 4" trailers. Fish were caught about 17' deep. That is not a typo....2...
We got 4 early this morning in the creeks. I mean EARLY...lol...we were home by 9:30 this morning.
My worst day on the lake was a little over 5 years ago. My daughter had went with my parents to the lake. They took my dad's boat and the jet ski down to Laurel Lake. My daughter called me from...
It was swimming
LOL....that's exactly the reactions we got 30 years ago. I'm not making this up. I know that other people had to have seen this thing sometime if they fished Herrington regularly. We were talking...
LOL..yes this one again. I'm not kidding. Remember it like it was yesterday. One of the other 2 witnesses was a law enforcement officer for the state. We were discussing this over xmas. Nobody...
Has anyone seen the Herrington monster in the last 10 years???? I'm not kidding. 3 of us saw it in broad daylight 30 years ago.
Congrats on a very nice fish! Keep what you want within the legal limits, throw back what you don't want. I've even been known to give a few to the neighbors! With the economy the way it is, I may...
