Found one in Burkesville that doesn't look too bad.
soak the connection with PB Buster. Use a chamis cloth or rubber gloves for a better grip and twist apart.
We are having a tournament at the end of March on Dale going out at Wisdom resort. But their rooms are a little priecy are their any cheaper hotels near by?
Nolin river was a blast caught a lot of fish. But our stay at the Hatfeild Inn wasn't as pleasant. Now the rooms were nice and everything was clean the breakfast was great. But when it came to the...
Great to know we're headed there in the morning to pre fish for the weekend.
Great!! Hope the food is still awesome!!
Thanks for the info. I'm excited to get down there next week. We have fished it for a few years and it was a let down to hear the hotel was closed. But I know the fishing will be awesome!!
What a shame I loved that place. A great breakfast and jump in the boat. Is it closed for good or just for the season? We are coming down there the 7th to the 9th club classic. By the way how far has...
It's a great little park. A canoe is great there electric motors only so you wont get run over. The catfish are good as well as blue gill.
Has anyone been to Brookville yet. I've got a tourney there Saturday. Water temp, color, level haven't been there since last year.
Our tourney for the season opener was a great success!! Cold rainy muddy water but we managed to put 40lbs. in the boat!!. 22.5 the first day and 18.5 Sunday. The fish had moved up farther than we...
Looks like it will be a crowded lake Saturday. LO)OLOO Glad we don't go out till 11:00
I was reading the weather looks like rain Friday with a short cold front. Is the water still muddy and in the 40's? Did anybody go out this weekend?
If your going out from Wax go toward the bridge. fish from the bridge on down. Lots of rocks lay downs. Good spot to start. From there look for creek channels and fish points and drop offs. Good...
I'd say if the water is cold and muddy. jigs and plastics worked on drop offs slow. Colorado blade spinner bait or a rattle trap would also be a good bet.
They did it this year in Ohio on Acton(Huston woods) and Cowan lakes. Guess they have figured out on how much revenue they were missing out on by not having the club tournament fishing community not...
Thanks Clint. We always start late on away tourneys because not all of us stay over night and drive there in the morning. And there is usually 7 or 8 boats. Our local tourneys have 10 to 12 boats. In...
Clintcone we will be going out on that one if it's the one near the dam ramp. But the tournament will not start until 11:00 and go to 7:00. Sunday is 8:00 till 4:00. So there shouldn't be any...
Thanks for the info!! No the tournament is on Saturday and Sunday we were going to prefish a little before the tourney. We had our first tourney there last year it was cold and windy didn't do all...
Headed to Green on the 28th for a tournament on that weekend. Does anyone know about the water levels and temps? We still have ice up here in Cincy and the river is a mess. I've got the bug bad but...
Southern Ohio Bassmasters in Cincinnati. www.southernohiobassmasters.com
I'm pretty sure not. Unless it's some kind of seminar on dogs.
I got the five year subscription. But In my fishing club we have to be a member anyway and I'm also a FLW member in order to fish in my other club.
Happened to my buddies boat two years ago. It wasn't the relay though. It was the motor and it wasn't easy to get to. There was a screw on the side of the motor that would release the pressure and...
There are guys in my club that have the big 21' dream boats and a few of them have the 12' fishing boats. While each has it's advantage. It all comes down to time on the water and experience. Most of...
I found a funnel at wallymart with a 32oz capacity that has a lid and a hose with a valve to control the amount going in. Since 50:1 ratio is 3oz per gallon a full funnel is 9 gallons of gas.
Stren also makes a clear blue florescent in fluorocarbon. It's harder to find but well worth it for the sensitivity. I use it all the time cause It's easier to see in the day light as well.
Read the article from the DNR it's just a swimming advisery. The lake isn't shut down. You can still fish and boat. Although the EPA says the toxic level is 4 times the normal.
I haven't heard about the lake being shut down. But I know that since it hasn't rained much and the water temps in the 80's the algae has gotten worse. I was thinking of doing some night fishing...
Yep the dam end is just nasty. It's a little clearer up stream. Started that way about two weeks ago and go worse.
East Fork is just a green mess right now. Can't see more than 6in down the algee is so thick. The upper end of the lake is a little better but the lower end is horrible. It used to be a really clear...
The only areas that I've any luck there is Gar Hill, Fairfeild ramp to the marina and the banks around the dam. Crankbaits ,Jigs and whacky worms usually work well.
I went the cheap route. I've got 4 Bearkley blacklights mounted to my trolling rod holders on my Tracker their about 29.00 each. I also wired plug outlets on each side of the boat to keep a tangle of...
I've used Vicious pro for about three years and have never had a problem with it. But my eyesight isn't what it used to be so I've switched to Stren 100% floro in clear blue florescent. It really...
Was out there this past weekend. Caught about two dozen in the 9'' range. On a beetle spin in black. In about 8 to 9 feet of water. the east end of the lake was really muddy the east end by the dam...
To begin I would start with the basics. 3 to 4 inch tubes in the basic colors. Greenpumpkin, jumebug, watermelon. there are a few ways to rig them, texas rig for weedless and jig head for non heavy...
For the last few years there has been a virus going around that only affects carp. it attacks their gills and they essentially suffocate. Several of the lakes in this area had a carp die off last...
don't ussually fish for walleyes this time of year but they can be caught. If you have a good topo map of the lake there are some good flats off of Gar hill that usually have some eyes on them. And...
It was too shallow his past weekend. Even for my Tracker.
I was there this past weekend. the upper river was fishing the best. The water was muddy and about 51. Had the most luck fishing rock faces in deep water. Dropping a jig or beaver along the face and...
Headed to Rocky fork sunday for a club tournament. There are supposed to be some big tournaments there all weekend. But it's never really affected us much. Then we'll be at Brookville in two weeks.
I had one I used on the rental boats at the parks. It's great for a portable fishfinder. works well with just a trolling motor but I wouldn't use a gas motor with it in the water. You have to take it...
Great info I'm headed down there friday.
I just got my license renewed and I was reading the regs. When did Paint creek become a split limit lake? 2 under 15 and 2 15 and over. Can't find my old book so I'm not sure. We have a tournament...
Does anyone know whent the tuesday night tourneys start at East Fork?
I don't use just one maker of rod. I've got a mish mash of Falcon,St Croixs, Diawa V, Mitchel, Quatum. But I did just purchase two Pfluger rods and reels. President models 7' medium action with 10...
Ohio will have it's 2013 fishing license available Friday March 1st.Don't forget!! On another note, I saw where New York will be offering their fishing license to last one year from the date of...
If the bases in the deck are still good. I would recomend the Cabla's combo pedistal and seat. i've bought a set for my Tracker and a set for my fishing partners Ranger. I think they run about 169.00...
I use it year round. It depends on the water temp as to how I fish it. In cold water 60 and under I'll use it weightless so it is slower on the fall. When the temp is 60 and above I use a wacky hook...
