Thanks BB I really appreciate your help!
Sorry title should be First instead of fist!!! Any advice is appreciated!
Headed down for a few days early in April. Never been to Guntersville and wondering what conditions we will be facing and what I should be planning to throw? Staying mid lake.
Thanks
I would fish at night. Throw a buzzbait with the shad moving up that would probably be the best bet.
fishing is good at night on worms and craws on the main lake. But the lake is very very low and dropping.
Scattered shallow and deep.
Thanks for sharing. Great story. I hope to one day see a smallie of that size on my hook!
Round Toothpick also!!
Don't slow down the jerkbait, speed it up they are getting to good of a look at it. I had the same problem and was told to speed up the retrive, it works never had many onlookers after that.
I would say they are still in the rivers/creeks due to the spawn.
I just got back from my spring break trip myself from Dale. Had a good time and caught some good smallies. I stayed in John Davis' cabin and really enjoyed the time. Best spring break in my 7 yrs of...
I have a friend that is coming down later in the month and he wondering where to stay at. He would like to remain on the Northern side.
Sounds good, thanks for the report. I will be down a week from monday and it looks like the weather is going to be stable, should be fun.
I have a Lowrance 332c which is basicly the same as a eagle. I have had no problems with it and it works great.
The External gets better reception than the internal ones but take up more room. .
When the bite is slow I turn to a shakey head, during any season. You can really fish them anywhere but I like to use them around cover where I feel/know bass are holding. the slight movements is...
Hey Matt I sent you a PM.
44-47 on lower end Sat am.
As the water temps near 50-55 the Jerkbait (X-rap) bite will improve. Fish can be caught on them right now but it has to be fished slowly. The x-rap is a good bait. Right now I would probally try to...
Alot of rain fell in just a few hours. There and still is lots of water pushing down the river. I hope everyone involved comes out ok.
Hoski I sent you a PM!
I will do the same. I plan on getting over that way Saturday as long as mother nature co-ops. Yea I thought Baseball was a warm weather sport, a guy I coach football with says he is ready to give...
Better get the check book ready. I may wait a couple of weeks for the Ky. Both within a week or so can really cut into gas money.
I have a two bank. I have had it a year and have no complaints. By all accounts Pro-Mariner makes a good product.
I will go 46 even. They have had stable weather I belive they will find the fish.
They will be down next weekend. Should be interesting!
I have heard that Saugers and some male eyes are being caught on the French Broad right now but have not been myself. May go down this weekend and check it out. Crappie have been spotty but should...
Congrats. Enjoy these times b/c they will be grown before you know. Good luck!!!
With warmer weather and some rain I would stay in the creeks the baitfish will move into the creeks and so will the smallies, if they are not already. Jerkbait or hair jig would be my focus. Using...
I usually fish in East Tn. (Clinch, French broad) but I have fished the C'land some but in the headwaters here around home, Bell Co. Right now I focus on the deeper pools below (15-25 ft.) the...
I talked to a guy that fished Ray creek last weekend he said the water temp was 36-39. He said he zeroed and fished the fnf and hair jigs.
Right now they will be schooling up in the deeper pools in the rivers preparing for the spring run. Some of the younger males will be moving to the skinner water now but the larger ones will move up...
I am pretty sure that the water temp's that day where not in the upper 30's!! That can really make a difference on how cold it is, or feels. Catching fish it not that cold, not catching **** it is...
I used to say it is never too cold!!! But I am starting to re-think that.
Bad news for sure!!! I hear tax rates in the area on the increase very soon.
If we get some warm rain the fish will move up in the creeks. The fishing is at the low point right now, it will only get better from now on. I got skunked Saturday also, first time in a long time...
Sounds like it could have been much, much worse!
Duck with a little purple or Red in it works well for me on sunny days and of course plain duck. I have also had sucess with just white craft hair.
When you get exact times for your show please post them or let me know. I will probally venture down, I need to fed the bait monkey anyway.

Nothing like Dale! It has flat clay/gravel banks for the most part. Water stays stained. Kinda comparable to taylorsville but with fish! Most of your bigger fish will be found on off shore structure....

I have Lowrance 102C and 332c on my boat both will pick up even a small 1/8 jig head maybe smaller never tried. I have used the 102 to drop silver buddies down below baitfish to catch bass. It is...
As far on the Lake no places comes to mind, I can think of some campgrounds but no Resorts or Motels on the lake. I am sure you could find a place in Morristown or Jefferson City depending on which...

He does a really good job and is very helpful.

My family owned a houseboat years ago with a ceter hatch that we fished through the winter months. Worked good. We caught alot of crappie's and eye's through that thing. Maybe some of these marina's...
My Boat has the 332c on it with external. My cousin has the 334 with internal. His does lose signal in places where mine does not. So I think the external is the way to go.
