    Shad below the Dams

I was wondering if anyone could explain where the shad disappear on certain days below Melton Hill. In the spring they usually are stacked up near the boils, but sometimes they are thin with the...

Re: Stripers below Fort Loudoun Dam

I have seen a few caught at the hill. I would say the same holds true for below Loudon. Have you had a chance to go yet? Would like to hear a report.

Re: What did I catch? A Brown?

How far below 61 bridge were you? Did you catch any stripes? Any other bites? I fished below 61 bridge with shad last year my first time with no luck.
Thanks for the update. Great catch!

Re: What did I catch? A Brown?

Looks like a bow, but the red spots are typical of a brown.
Some browns tend to loose their tint when removed from the water.
Where did you catch it? What was your bait?

    Shad Farm

Curious as to the nature of the Threadfin shads in the creeks. Can anyone tell me the cycle of the threadfins? When do they spawn, move into creeks, out of the creeks?

    Any comments from bass out...

    RE: Warm water discharge reports?????

If you have eyes like an eagle you can catch bait below the hill about anytime of the year.

This past weekend I caught small 1-3" threadfins. They were thick in Turkey Creek. Used them at...

    RE: Warm water discharge reports?????

Fished Kingston on the 24th for a few hours. One fellow mentioned he caught several stripes bottom fishing directly below the discharge with 5-6" gizzard. I fished the inlet and landed a massive 3.5#...

With the water on, you can find bait at both locations where the water is coming out of the discharge. At Melton hill they are typically bunched up next to the bank just right of the discharge and...

  18. RE: Take a kid fishing.... best places.... boat or bank??

Carp. Chum with corn then using a small hook and split shot you can slay them. Best places will be summertime shallow coves. Don't let the kids leave the rod unattended or you'll either loose it or...
