Thanks. Enjoy the last 3 years of working and then enjoy retirement even more. I highly recommend it.
Thanks for the info. We hope to make it down soon. How deep did you catch the one?
We fished Mon/Tues last week and the creeks were decent mid lake, but main lake was bad. Debris wasn't horrible in the creeks, but a little wind shift would cause someone's need for speed major...
So many variables to this type fishing. But, it can be summed up...nice weather in April/May...GO!
I hope to get down a few times in the next 3 weeks. I'll try to remember to post back if I have any info.
Main lake or creek? Time?
We fished about 1/2 way back a creek last week. Did OK...not great by any means. Most action was late 1:30 - 4:30 AM.
Nice walleye.
Anyone know if/what time of night stripers are hitting top? Or if shad are coming up?
Was down in early April and just got them on slivers. I would like to narrow down a...
Nice fat fish Richman. Did you catch those casting during the day?
Anyone been out at night casting the banks? The water looks good and we are planning to go out tonight.
I didn't know threadfins got that big. Thanks.
What kind of bait do you catch in the heads of the creek? Day time I'm assuming?
We fished a couple of days trolling shiners in the creeks. Didn't do any good the first day...just a couple of largemouths. Next evening went way up the creek and fished in 23-30' of water and...
We're going to get to fish Tues/Wed mornings. Love2hunt...did you catch then in the jumps too? What part of the creeks did you find them? How deep if you trolled?
Thanks. I'll report back...
Thanks. Hope to give a try this winter.
Thanks for the previous info.
What type of small hooks are you using that can handle a striper? Edit...size 2 or 2/0?
How do you hook those threadfins to keep them alive that long?
Yep in the past it was can you get there before they go down. Now it's are they jumping at all. I assumed they still may be more around the dam and just not in my normal mid lake area. ????
...
Sad to report no jumps seen yesterday evening or this morning. We watched from Difficulty Ck to Beaver Ck in the 3 trips out. Some bait marked 10-20', but very few fish seen on the depth finder.
Nice morning to fish but no jumps spotted mid lake this morning. Temp about 66.5
Should be able to make it down to fish Monday & Tues mornings (my weekend basically). If anyone has any more info to provide after this weekend let me know.
I'll report back after I get on the...
Same for us yesterday. Maybe next week.
We didn't see any jumps yesterday evening or this morning. Marked some shad above 20', but the few fish marked were still deep 40-60. Temp was near 70 last night and closer to 69 this morning. ...
Thanks for the update. We'll be fishing tomorrow evening - Wed or Thurs. and will report when we can.
Good luck. We decided to wait til next Monday.
Thanks again. Never fished for them late in the year and my wife would like to fish for them more.
Thanks. Where do you all tend to fish and how deep this time of year?
How was your buddy fishing to catch bluegill this time of year?
Really thinking about going back down next week, but may save the trip for the week after. Good luck.
Raining this morning here at the lake. I think I'll just drink coffee and take it easy.
Wolfe, Lily, Jamestown area this morning....no jumps. Temp @ 80
10-4. I usually stay between Beaver and Harmon.
I will be down the first part of next week. I'll trade info. 1st...where is White Tire? I haven't heard of that.
Cast along the banks with jointed thundersticks beginning about 10 PM.
Thanks. Hope to make it down next weekend.
I haven't been down in 2 months....what would be a good starting depth?
Lots of shad up last night, blowups 11-3 Eastern. Some debris mid lake...careful.
Good luck this morning. I hope to get down in a couple of days myself.
Go.
I'm hoping to make that trip next summer. Any pointers?
I have found that friends/family are the most difficult to deal with. I have made the decision to never ask a few of them to fish/hunt again.
Thanks for the info Adam. I may try stripers again the next time I go down.
What were you trolling with Adam? And how deep were most of the fish? I hope to go back down next week and not sure what I want to try for.
We fished near the Jamestown area. The first night we fished all night. The second night we switched spots and set up on a wall area on the main lake (like everyone else the first night was...
I've caught a couple of hybrids as well.
Thanks for all the info.
We managed to catch some crappie, a couple of walleye, several small stripers, and a few other odd and end fish. We did...
Thanks. Sounds simple enough and very close to what I've been told to catch walleye.
With that type of variety of species, I'm guessing line and hook size is not a big deal???
Thanks for the info.
I've never fished for crappie at night w/ lights. Can you give me a basic run down?
Plan to be down later this week and in the mood to fish for something other than stripers or bass.
What would you all fish for and how?
Bluegill
Crappie
Walleye
White Bass
These are all...
Hmmm, not too many good reports concerning the night time bite.
I hope to go down after Memorial Day. Anyone fishing w/ bait right now?
Thanks for the info guys.
Good one. You better get a patent on that. I see it being used a lot in the future.
The fish I have caught this spring have sure been healthy and fat...good news for the future (hopefully).
