Lgmouth biting good. Had good response to jerk baits about 2 wks ago.
did not know you were still fishing! weve got native river walleyes her in WV that your looking for. cmon over.
Staysee 90.
I've used rogues and they are great for skinny water. Same with Ito from megabass.
Staysee. American shad. Catches every fish in cland and dale. Walleye, stripers and all bass. Deadly this time of year.
After a stellar outing on cland sat decided to try dale. Put in at state dock and fished sun up til noon. COLD morning as cloud cover was pretty thick. Main lake below river with nice green tint....
Also struggled sat. Put in at Conley and fished faubush to Norman. Main lake with moderate stain. Temps am 42 and by late pm found some 48. Backs of creeks clearing and let me say that the amount of...
a few photos from recent trips. not fishing as much as when i lived in ky but still trying to get out when possible. fish from cumberland and guntersville. enjoy!
Anybody used Dave's Reel Repair service out of IL? interesting and impressive website. wanted any feedback before sending reels out. thanks in advance.
recent striper trip down river with ky trophy fishing guide service (www.kytrophyfishing.com) and Capt. Randell Gibson. boated 4 - 32,38,48 and 52#! enjoy.
fish should be post spawn and near spawning flats. early and late they should move up and topwater bite this time of year can be awesome. if overcast and rainy, don't forget the chartreuse...
lived in somerset from 2001 to 2010. fished both lakes. have to say i believe more than anything what helps dale over cumberland is the grass. good for fry and young fish to get big. additionally...
its gonna be awesome when water raised (to whatever level). just hope they don't cut down all the great vegetation growing on the banks before they bring it up!!!!
WOW! great fish! congrats.
as a swim jig trailer, little dippers
to rig on jig head alone, Netbait BK swim bait or basstrix. depending on head type, glueing helps all last longer. the J will head with its thick collar holds...
Got back down to KY/TN and enjoyed 2 beautiful days at Dale. Put in at State Dock, water generally with mild stain and temps 62 to start and near 70 when done. boated 15 on thur and then 20 on...
a few other fish from trip. enjoy!
Great weather and pretty good fishing those two days. water temps started at 62 and by end of thurs were up to 70! 80 degree days will do that for you. Put in at state dock and fished thurs friday...
got on them last year like that. INSANE! great job. image 112 is a beast - great fish!
concur, sounds like bad transducer
have been using for several years and they are really great rods for the money. not as light as loomis or upper end st croix but tough as nails and as noted, great warranty.
thanks! i have a suspenders and a mustang. Both worn FULL TIME when i am out and fishing partner does same. comfortable and could save your life one day. i also have 3 vest types that are always...
pm sent
not illegal to own in ky nor TN. can't imagine a ticket for having on deck of boat! seems GW would have to see it being USED in "forbidden" waters before issuing citation.
Awesome fish!!!!!!
Fished Dale thurs. air temps got up to 79! Water temps 48-50 and clear. Boated 4. All on jerkbaits.
helluva creek smallie. good job
looks great!
lived in somerset for 7yrs. i think this would be a tough sell (sorry). fishing and the boating industry generally has taken a downturn with the economy issues. folks just have less to spend on...
ouch! Thats tough but i am going to say swimbait! jig close second and shakey head third.
beauty for sure. nice job.
exact situation that shaky head worms were designed for. go with subtle color like green pumpkin and saturate the bait. ie let it sit in front of them and sit and sit and sit........when you do...
ones at Dale usu full of small minnows and assorted bugs.
could put in canoe at state ramp and work your way around in the no wake zone. some big gills in there and smaller bass. if you wanted to be more adventurous, you could head out from state marina...
Thanks! just never been able to reliably find concentrations of gills as easily as Dale. nice to change scenery though. may be heading down this w/e.
never been able to catch big ones like at dale. i was hoping the vegetation would bring em in and the striper die offs should lead to a bluegill explosion. bet the largemouths get bigger and more...
was wondering how long till gills started coming to vegetation and critters in vegetation. cumberland should only get better and better with vegetation! if i may ask, what part of lake. ...
elluva fish. congrats! thats a beast
state park lot at DALE HOLLOW! :)
when i lived in lexington i would fish there and out at jacobson -> had to wet a line somewhere before i had a boat. caught a lot of smaller bluegill and bass on 2 in tubes. not real big but better...
good for you! i know times are tough but deals are good and some tackle / manufacturers will not be represented in the future locally. he had some good contacts.
Moving/closing store.
Tackleexperts.com is having a sale! check out website for available deals/discounted merchandise. great prices on great tackle.
great looking fish!
awesome video. thanx for sharing! agree about fishing being only part of the benefit of being outdoors
best to you wherever life may take you. keep fishing, it is the thread that unites us all.
it WILL happen. cool water species are not going to have the oxygen content to survive. I agree, expect it to get worse before better. striper fishing will continue to suffer with loss of the...
those are some healthy hybrids!
blackened redfish.......nice trout too. like the smaller trout as well. nice fish!
Great fish! first picture looks longer than 22". great job indeed.
