Sounds like a good way to get a walleye for the frying pan too :-)
I tried the stuff, not pleased with the results. Very difficult to use, tends to slide off your target area while molten. I'd say practice on some scrap alluminum before you try your boat. Good...
I pressure washed it and a lot of old paint came off. I think I will sand it some and see what else comes off. Found aluminum primer at home depot. I'll give it a try.
I'm getting ready to paint an old jonboat, just wondering what type of paint to buy. Also need to know if I have to remove all of the old paint or just what is lose. I have a sprayer so I'm looking...
sweet baby Jesus, that thing is huge!
They could be that deep. Here's the thing, the ones holding at that depth are not going to be actively feeing so ignore them and head into the creeks/ trees/ cover or where ever the bait fish are...
Glad everyone is okay!
Geo,
Can you explain the task of making an auto-inflate manual only?
Thanks,
Steve
I put the ones in front just to have a place to stick a rod when changing lures, releasing a fish etc... and normally only have the left or right one in, but I have been know to troll will all four...

Sit-on-top for fair weather fishing, sit-in for not so fair. 12 to 14 feet should do it. Get a basic boat and customize it with all the fishing gear you want- rod holders, fish finder, anchor,...
... I don't know... LOL
Thanks guys. I'll give these a try! Let you know what turns up.
Looking to fish a little closer to home these days. I need to be schooled on the Ohio river. Fished around 18 mile island today. Water temp 78.5, shad in the downed trees up river side of island. ...
You & your friend won't be disappointed in this trip (Green River). Make it a two day adventure, if you can, a permit is required to camp out on one of the many gravel bars/ islands but they are...
so what's up with the Harrison Ave ramp? Is it usable for a jonboat?
Thanks for the scoop! That would sure be a nice lake to put a canoe or jonboat on, but I don't want to end up in the penitentiary! Yep, my wife teaches English at O.C., nice place.
My wife works right across the street from this lake in Buckner, it's the one right by the prison. Anyone have any info on this water. Never see anyone fishing there nor any boats?

The poor girl broke into tears when it got too dark to fish any more. Her Mon told us she was talking about her "fishin trip" in her sleep that night, so I think all is good :-)
Nice gill from the back yard pond.
What is truly selfish is that he didn't invite us all to the fish fry! LOL
can't lift anything over 5 lbs. You better stay clear of Dale, but sounds about right for the Elkhorn! :-)
Good luck to you!
I've never been on the river when it's that low, close but not that bad.
When I open up the terraserver link I posted above, there is a box on the map image labeled "Imagery". Click on that box and choose the date from the drop-down menu. Or just go to the photo section...
The Falls of the Ohio river.
Yep, I posted it. If I can find it again I'll put it in the photo section.
Okay here you go:

Search for Louisville, center on the falls and then change...
Geo,
I'm sure you've seen the hunting/fishing cabins for rent down around Winfrey's, right at the ramp. Well the family that rents those out will be happy to take you up to Helms or the dam for...
Nice! What is that camo pattern called? My truck would look good in that!
Doug,
I'd love to go with you. Wife has a bad case of the don't you dare go fishing or have any fun, so I will have to go durring the day when she's at work. I've got a 14' Lund with a 40 jet. ...
So your little fishin buddy is going to be just fine!! :) Thanks for keeping us all up to date on his condition. I'm sure all those prayers your family got didn't hurt him none! I just love a...
Prayers for you and your little guy from Steve, Felicia and baby Molly (six months old). That kiddo is lucky to have a dad that cares about him so much. Best wishes.
Thank You! I was starting to think I was the only one.

Trying to figure out some boat electrical problems. See discussion:

Second: close up of top of starter,...
Thanks for continuing to help out with this Jbyrd. I'm putting some pictures in the photo section so you can see what I'm working with here. I don't think that the current is intentionally flowing...
I investigated Jbyd's suggestion that starter should be isolated from the rest of the motor and found that, in my case, it is not. It is bolted directly to the engine, metal on metal. There are...
hmmmm? This just keeps getting more interesting. Thanks Jbyrd, that makes sense. I'll try to get to the bottom of it this weekend.
I'm going to check into a rubber mat between boat and motor and rubber grommets for the mounting bolts. Worth a try I guess, and might just do the trick.
Thanks everyone. The wire that shorted was not run properly and that seems to be the real issue here. When it started smoking so close to the gas tank, it got my full attention! I can live with...
This was the response I got from Mercury Marine :
"The scenario you described suggests a galvanic isolator. Please see your authorized dealer for assistance with this matter"
Galvanic Isolator,...
This is going to sound like a dumb question but here goes...
My mercury outboard is bolted directly to the aluminum transom, the motor is grounded directly to the battery, so the whole boat is now...
How many would it take to stock the Ohio R. :)
I like when it's slow and you see another fisherman try to sneak their fish into the boat, lol. It cracks me up. Like I'm going to run over and steal their spot, catch all their fish. My grandpa,...
Thanks, Bacon is poorly maintained this time of the year. It seems like if the water is high enough, the ramp is covered in a foot of mud and silt. Good ramp when usable.
Thanks for the report! Is the bacon creek ramp open/ usable?
How did you catch them down deep? Live bait? I've tried a few times and never could get a bite. Nice job! Do they fight as advertised :-0
I'm probably wrong on this but I've heard that a bad transducer can fry your unit. Hope not in your case, but you never know. The only other thing is to make sure the transducer is pointing...
Thanks for the report jbfisher. That is some cold water. It will warm up and the bite will be on soon.
In Florida right now, it's 84 degrees outside and the surf is at least 70, wife won't let...
Got it, only an $8 part. Hope this fixes it. Will report back.
