I have had them installed in my last two boats. Makes a bigger difference than you will ever imagine. I bought a troll well and paid a little more, but they match your boat color from the factory.

Has anybody put one of these in? Does it really help? Where is the best place to get one? I have seen them from $75 to $145. Any tips or info is greatly appreciated

I helped a friend install one in his ranger and it was very simple to do. He got his at BPShop for about $150.00. I'm wanting to install one in my 1999 Triton. If you find one at a good price and it's good quality, would you let me know? I've got a Fortrex TM.
The cheapest ones I have seen are at tackle warehouse for 75
Install it and you wont regret it. Like pastorbass said it makes a much bigger difference than you would imagine. If youre ever in rough water it will help you keep your balance.
Here is picture of mine after it was installed (or I should say a link to take you to a picture). I posted at BBC because Troll Well is a board sponsor there. I can't say enough good about the tray.

Once you go to a recessed trolling motor pedal tray you will never go back to one just resting on the deck. They help you keep your balance and save your back after a long day of fishing
Eddie Goode lives just outside of Lebanon - he is a blue water LED installer and does things like that as well. He actually installed one on my last boat he fabricated himself. Does great work on led lights, depth finder installs, and recessed trays.
You can install it yourself. I put mine in in about 40 minutes after a local "stealer" told me that to do it right would require at least two hours of labor (at $70/hr) plus the cost of the tray. It's not hard to do.
Didn't know that Eddie was doing that now. I'll have to ask him about it next time I see him out, because the recessed tray is something that I'm seriously considering.
Eddie just does that on the side I think. Haven't talked to him in several months, but assume he is still doing some boat work from time to time. He did excellent work on my last boat!
