Trip to cumberland 10-12 and 10-13

Headed down to fish for stripes,lm,spots,sm. Would rather fish for stripes on top if they are active. I will be staying way back in a creek arm below {general burnside state park} at the cumberland resort. Question is...can i stay in that area and find active stripes this time of year or do i need to run up to the main lake to find the stripes ???????????? Any info would be great ! Thanx,jc

You won't find too many where you are staying at this time of year. They wont be up to Burnside until next month usually. The closest to you would be if you head down to fishing creek almost to Lees Ford Marina but the bulk of them are much farther down. There are resident fish around Burnside that don't follow the heard to the other end but there is not that many of them, so they are there but not in big schools like at the other end.
    Good luck

If I was Striper fishing this time of year I would be in the Beaver/Otter west to the Dam area. They will be in very large school's near the channel drops moving and chasing ball's of bait fish.

We caught a few this weekend, the mornings were a bust for me only 1-2 but the evening jumps were good. Took a customer and his daughters 7 and 9 and they had a blast catching them in the jumps. All fish were keepers but only kept 4, the girls loved their first striper trip.
