    Elk Creek

Fished elk creek for the first time Sunday. I started at 9 am and finally gave up at 7pm. Kyaked from canoe KY on down and only managed three fish, all smallmouth. The water seemed low, not sure if that is why fishing was slow or maybe I just wasn't in the right area. Always heard good things about this creek, just wondering what I did wrong. is it the wrong time, wrong area, or just bad luck. Any advise would be appreciated. I really enjoyed the trip, but not sure I would be willing to make the long drive if that is all the better I can expect to do.

I rarely have much luck on Elkhorn. Keep in mind, I fish from the bank. But I've all but given up on the three spots I used to frequent around Georgetown.

Call kdfwr and ask how the otter restocking is working for the fisherman.

Amen Amen Amen..............................The fishing there is still good and you have to know the seasonal patterns but it's a far cry from what it used to be.
Between the Mexicans, Amish and Otters they are all but cleaning that creek out.
The Mexicans and Amish couldn't give two spits about size or creel limits and the Otters are doing what Otters do, thank you KDFWR it was a grand idea to put Otters back into our waterways because after all they are so cute and stuff....
    MAJOR SARCASM INTENDED!
