    FNF setup

Guys I have been reading many articles on this ans just having a time wrapping my head around it. I have never tried this technique. Do I need special equipment or can I just take my 7ft worm rod and down size line? How deep do you fish it? When is it most effective? Any help would be great. Planning a trip over Christmas and would love to try it.

Leave the 7 ft worm rod with a worm on it.

    Explains things fairly well.

I have G Loomis FNF Rod that is super light. It allows me to work the fly in a manner that I couldn't do with a heavier rod. To me, that makes all the difference in the world. My advice, if that's worth anything, would be to buy the lightest rod that you can find and afford. I can't wait to get down to Dale and get after them! Happening soon, I hope!

I had a board member buy me a bps rod for the fnf, and i see no reason to purchase a much more expensive rod. I dont throw it often, so a more expensive rod really wouldnt be a must for me. I can see the need for a higher end rod when youre fishing a "feel" technique like a jig or worm, but dont see the necessity with the fnf where youre watching for bites. Length to be able to cast a longer leader is much more important

If you are just starting out, or an ole timer, the above is some good advise.
