Looking for a good boat mechanic around morehead, winchester, lexington area. Need water pump replaced and motor checked out.
The Morehead News The Morehead News Fri Apr 25, 2014, 09:06 AM EDT April 25, 2014 — Marine Works, a full-service marine sales and service dealership based at Harrodsburg on Lake Herrington, has opened a branch operation at Cave Run Lake.
Located on KY 801 south of US 60 at Farmers, the company occupies the property formerly used by Lakeside Marine which closed last summer.
Owner Rick Bartley says his firm will be fully staffed within a few weeks and already is working on local boats and motors.
“There were lots of people asking us to come to the area,” said Bartley. “They kept telling me there was a real void to fill in the service and sales of boats. Our manufacturers really wanted us to come to Rowan County, as well.”
Bartley operated Pandora Marine on Lake Herrington for 20 years before starting Marine Works in 2008 with co-owner Danny McSorley.
“We will be selling parts and accessories along with different brands of boats,” he said. “We will have Lowe, Avalon, and Tahoe pontoon boats along with Phoenix bass boats. We also will carry Hustler and Marine Master trailers.”
He continued:
“We are stocking between 20 and 30 boats at this location. We also have 40 more at our other store so we have plenty of different types and styles.”
Marine Works also sells and provides maintenance on Mercury motors.
“We sell and do warranty work on Mercury and MerCruiser,” he said. “We can service most other products out there but we are limited some because we don't have the brand-specific computers.”
Bartley said he's looking forward to the start of boating season and can't wait to be of service to boaters in the Rowan County area.
“We are committed to service and are here to fulfill the needs of the boaters at Cave Run Lake,” he added.
Marine Works is open Monday thru Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and closed on Sundays.

I know Phillip and he is great. I think he only works on boats sparingly now. Danny At Marine Works is top notch!! I would take the drive to Herrington and let Danny work on the boat. If you don't want to drive then I know Rick will take of you at at his Cave Run Facility. Can't ask for any 3 better guys to work with!
