Thanks fellas. I am new to lake fishing but I grew up on rivers and creeks. Does the falling water level in a lake effect the bite. I know in a river if the water is falling the bite really isn't going to be on.

It does tend to make the fish back off from the banks, a little. From reports I've heard, it has moved the Crappie off the bank & out into deep water ... even though many of them have yet to spawn. Don't know about the Bass. I'd probably start looking for the first deep dropoff close to a spawning bank ... since both species are in the mood for makin' babies !!
I just follow the oldtimers rule : where goes the bait, goes the fish !!

Yea I try to find the bait fish as well. Another question about bait fish, if you find the bait fish and there are garr around Ive heard that you wont catch many fish if the garr are around.

I've heard the same thing and experienced it as well. Hard to catch bass when they're around.

Yea I was wondering because there were tons of bait fish but only produced one bass about 13 inches. maybe I need to invest in a bow fishing reel
