    Freshwater jellyfish?

    Has anyone ever seen any before? If so when and where at?

    I only remember seeing ONE ... about the size of a nickle .... back about 40-50yrs ago at Herrington Lake ... LOL !!

    I've seen em'. 2-3 years ago in a Peabody pit.

    About the size of a nickel. There were thousands.

    Saw them in Cave Run Lake, maybe 3-4 years ago. hundreds of them.

    Pretty cool guys. I watched ky afield the other night and Tim farmer was talking about em. I'd like to see em myself. They also talke about armadillos making they're way across the state. Said they've seen them as far as morehead. Pretty crazy...

    Saw three or four on cave run two years ago. I have heard laurel or nolin have em, can't remember which.

    I saw 2 or 3 on Cedar Creek last year in October.

    I saw the call-in show with Farmer and I think one of the biologists said the jellyfish was just one of the animals life stages.

    Thats right, they are actually Hydrozoans and what we think of as being jellyfish are just a stage of their lives called the medusae.

    On Cumberland about 6 years ago, at first I thought they were oil spots till We looked closer, there were hundreds about the size of a quarter.

    I saw mine swimming next to the freshwater marlin and stingray. Haven't seen one but would love to!

    Yup another invader from china. But I don't believe these little guys will damage as much as the carp and emerald ash beetles will.
