Me and my Stepdad are going to Salt River to fish for cats on Monday 9/29 and im wondering if anyone has any info about this area ive been fishing the Ohio all my life but never fished Salt River. I would like to know water depths and what species i can find im taking alot of bait up there like gold fish and cut bluegill and Creek Chubs, nightcrawlers, liver and some different dip baits like Secret 7. I plan on trying right at the mouth of Pond Creek and that bridge that goes over there and ill also try in the mouth of the Ohio also. Any info would be great. Thankyou in advance.

I often see people at the mouth of salt and the ohio river fishing when i cross the bridge and I think there is a big log jam on the left side going out of salt river ..
Like i said I have never fished that area so its all hear say. Here is a place you can check on the flow of the river http://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydro...rob_type=stage
but remember one thing that river can change in the worst way in just a few minuites so stay alert and wear you vest ..
Thanks for all your help ill let you know how i do.
The mouth of salt is DEEP! I only fished there once with no luck but of I remember right it was around 55 feet at the mouth. Don't hold me to that though.
