I was talking about flyfishing guides. I'm sure Sasser is good but I've never seen him talk about flies and fly fishing.

living 5 miles from the Burkesville ramp I recently started fishing, the river in the last 2 weeks. ( the river between crocus an traces),

Trying the typical baits, cranks, in line spinners an woooly bergers, all produced, noting compared to the Berkly Power bait for trout, in size an numbers....A lot to learn which river trout fishing is all new to me,
My set up was drift the bait split shot number 6 light hook 6# line bounce the bait off the bottom.

My success seemed better by drifting the bait down the river 8/9 depth, using the rod tip to raise it up an over the rough bottom.
Be ready to rebait at least a 2 jar trip for a full days fishing, no browns all rainbows big ones for me were 13 inch range

    First Cumberland Trout Expedition

I took my first trip to the Cumberland yesterday and despite the stormy weather did pretty well. I caught a couple of dozen fish with the biggest two being 21 and 20 inches. Caught several 12-14 inch browns as well and one bonus 3 pound sauger. Caught fish on shadraps and roostertails. Had a great time!
