Went today and only caught some perch and gar. Lost a decent smallie and we think we had a decent sauger get off but never laid eyes on it. Still early but hopefully this cool down coming will spark a movement.

I caught a few Sauger up there Sat on some small curly tail grubs. They don't appear to be there in numbers yet.
Went this morning. Fished from 5 am till 7:30. No sauger yet.
In my experience they are never behind the dams this time of year in numbers. They want to hog all the good sauger fishing for themselves I guess, so they dont tell you where they are. LOL
This time of year you need to find a creek that is fairly deep in the mouth. Harrods, 14 mile, and Indian. When the water temps hit a certain degree those big sauger you are looking for are in the mouths of the creeks. They dont make their run to the dam until its time for them to go on their spawning run.
I saw a couple guys in a boat in the mouth of Indian catching two and sometimes three at a time, and they were BIG sauger. It did not take them long to limit out.

^^^^^Very good advice here^^^^ I usually don't start looking for them below the dams untill after Black Friday. Chuck
