Bump. Anybody?
I've realized that apparently the first rule to fishing Laurel River Lake is the same first rule that Fight Club has.
Guys in all seriousness I don't think many fellas that frequent this site fish Laurel very much at all. Every year I tell myself I am going to fish this lake and every year I never do. I have personally had two different fishery biologist tell me that there is no doubt in their mind that the next state and or even the world record smallmouth bass swims in Laurel lake. When I ask what they base that on they say creel surveys, habitat, fertility and food base as there are trout in the lake and lots of eating size ones. This is bass super food and makes them grow at a much quicker pace and packs on girth and pounds such as the lakes in California have proven to do.
Now they also say it is one of if not the hardest lake in the state to fish. And the very successful fisherman there are few and tight lipped.
Somebody needs to make me fish this lake......
