Looking for info on where to put in (kayak) & take out (down stream).
Anyone have knowledge on spot to do a day long float targeting stripers.

For a day trip with a good current current means more directing the kayak than fishing. Look at a Google map. For the area between the dam an rock house landing. Not a ramp there but do able portage to a vehicle.
If you get a stripper in the kayak a video may get u some money,

Call chuck strange at strange bait shop in Burksville. Here is a link to his fishin report. The phone number is at the top of the report.

You could put in at the dam or ray man rd about a mile down from the dam and takeout at helms landing or rock house. Helms landing has a ramp. Don't know where stripers would be at different times of year. Chuck can help with that. Helms landing is closer.

I have no idea of your exact plans, but I will say this. Be careful. The river is swift in many places, many logs to flip you, and water cold enough to kill you real quick. Don't go without a second person with you. Make sure you let people know where you are going to be fishing and of course, life jacket. I say all this cause I've kayaked everywhere, but getting in my Kayak in Feb. on the Cumberland is not something I'd do.

Thanks all. This will be a spring or early summer trip & there will be several of us. Some of the others have been on the river trout fishing.
