7 degrees below normal this time of year at Ky lake. 40 degrees when the normal average is 47

I have not been out and here is why:

Ramps are snow and ice covered for the most part.....most ramps even if clean are iced in and you would have to break ice to get to where there is no ice. The Murray State team broke up skim ice at Ken Lake earlier this week in preparation for their scheduled open tournament there tomorrow...I would expect they will have to do that again since we broke another record low this morning and forecasted to break another one tomorrow morning. The last I heard, they are still planning to have the tournament there and keep water pumping on the ramp to keep it from freezing..I hope it works for them because if it does not it will be a mess. Fenton ramp has been plowed but I am told it is rough going getting to the ramp.

The main channel on Kentucky is heavily stained to muddy as is the channel on Barkley. I heard there also is some floating ice in the channels but I have not been able to confirm this. The surface temperature on Kentucky Lake channel is 37.6 degrees as I type this.

Certainly not the conditions I would take my client's out on right now nor would I go out there myself
