Best numbers I have had in a long time using a crank bait. Those of you who know IM a live bait person, I got some help on how to catch more fish an faster. A good friend practice ing for tournament this weekend told me how a lot of the fish he caught had crawfish sticking out of there mouth. That's what got me to put on the crank bait and it paid off.
Friday I boated so many fish I'd be lying if I tried to put a number on the total somewhere between 25 SM an LM. 25 wouldn't surprise me.
Saturday was slower for me on SM but the. Large mouth bite took over.
You know what type banks you find crawfish the temp today was nearly 53. Around Lilly. I stayed on gravel banks with some broken rock. No walls no lay downs, most of the fish were in les than 6 to 8 ft throwing the crawfish pattern.
My largest Sm was over 5 today as well as the LM yesterday.
Stain around state dock is clearing out
Lower end is much clearer than trooper area
Will add pic later

Headed down Thursday with Dad & my youngest son hoping to get his feelings hurt by a nice brown fish or two. We are going out of State. Do you remember about 4 years ago when the crank bite was so aggressive they were pulling the rod out of your hands? Sounds like it's back. Give me a shout if you are out on the lake this weekend. I'll be in dad's blue Stratos and we will be around the Island and in Sulphur or Wolf.
How's the trash & floating debris? Talked to the guy on the Island last week and he said it was pretty bad with the lake being up.
Any big spots being caught?
Hope to see you on the water.

Monday's are my day off so I've got the boat ready and am heading that way in the morning. Supposed to be a nice day and hopefully the fish will cooperate. Thanks for the report!

I'm going to have to go way, way up river, and try the crank, because I have been having a re occurring dream about fishing dale hollow with crankbaits, but DANG, I don't recognize the area .
I hate dreams like that.
I'll be asleep in the boat wake me up when you start backing the sled up and its on.....

Are they ripping it out of your hands. Great to hear the good numbers of slots coming back around. I'm ready to leave right now. Just hope it holds on this weekend. I'll be there Thursday-Sunday.
