You won't have any problem. I've put my boat in the water in numerous states, never had an issue. MI is the worst about having a plate on your trailer, and I didn't have a problem there either.

Hi Guys. My closest boat access ramp to the Meldhal pool just below the Greenup Dam is on the Ohio side of the river. Can I launch there without getting in trouble with the law because my trailer has no license plate, Ky does not require trailer license.
I could launch in the Greenup pool but that would require that I lock through the dam. That would take time and take away fishing time.
Anyone know the answer?

you are completely legal. the license plate on the trailer law only applies to the state where you reside. no worries!
watch your speed in ohio. they write a lot of tickets over there, and with no licence plate on the front of your truck ,or on your boat trailer, they know you are a tourist. i learned the hard way
