Has the night bite started? How is the Lake after all this additional rain? Headed to lake this weekend to visit family and considering trying night fishing. Thanks.
Last Sunday I heard of some folks catching some on main lake points.
I'm down here right now and the waters about 62-64 degrees and ranges from 2-4 feet of clarity

My buddies just put in ( 8pm) at the dam. Pics he sent looks like it has been logged at the ramp. Trolling motor only as far as the eye can see. He stated they have open a gate or two. Clarity of the water looks pretty good.
Buddies ended up boating 11-12 with several more on and off. Think 4 were keepers. Slivers were the bait. They stayed on the lower end.

I fished Friday during the day on the lower end and how anybody is fishing that lake at night right now is beyond anything I can understand. The lake is as trashed as I have ever seen it and I have fished that lake for many years. It is horrible and completely unsafe can't even imagine being on that lake at night right now...just crazy.....
I saw trees actual whole trees with root wads floating. Tires with wheels still in them, large metal gas cans, plastic lawn chairs and more season ending logs then an Ohio river barge could carry...
Most banks you couldn't even cast against just way to much junk.
I hear ya. We were there late Friday afternoon and night. Saw the same exact items you described.
The trash at the ramp made it hard to launch and take out.
Caught 200+ leaves, 100+ sticks, 20+ logs, 7+ bass 0 stripers. Frustrating fishing after dark.
Considered it a success to make it home with the lower unit intact.
But it is stll better than working

Fished Saturday by the dam. Lake is as bad as I've ever seen it in over 20 years on that end. Strong winds helped and by sun down it was 90% better. It was high impact fishing with down lines. Had to stay vigilant. Fish were holding in the trash though so had to fight through it. Stripes are as healthy as I've ever seen them since work started in the dam all those years ago. Fat and mean!
On another note I did sneak off a little further south for a day where the real mean fish swim :-)
