I was crappie fishing Dale Tuesday. Caught a few bass around 30' also. Most of the bait balls were around 25-30' and fish all under them. Made we wish I had took my trolling gear.

Found 56.3 water temp, clear from State Dock toward LillyDale an Muddy Branch area, near winter pool.
Using live bait keeping the bait between 20 to 30 ft range trying to stay on banks not far from the channel.
Put a couple fish in the boat early then went almost 4 hours without a pick up.
I was able to find some of my best numbers ever, using the wind to shove the bait fish toward me paid off.
Not the better fish I hoped for but after struggling for so long finding a fantastic bite paid off.
I drifted the bait for the most part of the day but bottom fishing produced also.
I hope I didn't duplicate any of the pics, All my fish were nearly identicle in size.

I'd be guessing maybe a dozen from one area.
One of the more consistent LB guides had nearly a 30 fish day on Tues. Been a long time since I heard of those numbers.
Bottom line it's shape in up to be a good winter season.

Were most of your fish 17 1/2-18". Seemed like that was the size of nearly every one we had saturday
Sllloooowww! Caught a few good ones around 20'. Had 9 keepers. Fish seemed to have their arms wrapped around the trees. Glad I brought plenty of hooks. It really slowed down after 10am but I stayed til 2.
Happy turkey day guys.
Dad may be coming to Dale with me tomorrow so I may pick up some live bait to try. Where and what do you all recommend to get some around the west side of the lake. I've never thrown LB so how do guys normally rig it and do you throw it in the same places you would throw a jig and such? Thanks.
Thanks moe. I wish a 20" crappie would make it in my boat. I did have 4 around 15". It would definitely go on my wall.
