Me and my 3 kids went to Taylorsville lake today targeting crappie. We caught a total of 6 all under size limit. Water level was suprisingly low. Highest water temp was 45 degrees. Not many boats out today but with the weather forecast sure that will change. If anyone has input to help me catch crappie here ill be forever grateful.
Taylorsville is still at Winter Pool. Only report I've heard recently was spider rigging jigs/crappie nibbles close to standing timber.
Best bite came between 930am-1230pm. 13 keepers were caught. (no size given)
Sorry, but no depth of water or jig depth was given. Water temp was same as what you stated.
For me, during most of the Spring, late Summer, Fall, and even early Winter ... I stick to the timber, be they blowdowns or standing trees. I mostly cast jigs & 1/16oz marabou Roadrunners, but have on occasion resorted to pushing jigs and even longline trolling. Most of my efforts are usually between 4' deep and 15' deep.
... pappy
