Fished the lower end of the lake all day. Water temps started around 43. I saw it up to 49 in one spot before i left. I hadnt been there since early january and the lake had obviously came up with all the weather we've had. There were quite a few floaters out there and orher trash on the lake. Also, the lake at the dam had giod color but it got noticably muddier around the mouth of beaver. Guessing it was quite muddy up from there. We threw small jigs tipped with minnows and dragged shiners behind us. Managed 7 smallmouth with 6 keepers, 1 nice spot, and one 11.5 lb stripe. No bass over 4 but nice fish. All bass came on the jig except 3. One came on a shiner. Had one Ky on a crappie jig when we tried for crappie for an hour or so and one smallmouth on a crappie minnow. Couldnt figure out how to catch a crappie although we didnt try for too long. My 11 year old did most of the damage with 5 of the 9. It was food to be out on the water again. I think the jerkbait bite could get going at any time. They probably would have bit it this weekend if i would have stuck with it. Ill try to post some pics in a minute. Also, if anyone would share some crappie catching tips for late winter, i would like to hear them.

Nice fish and thanks for the report
If you don't mind what kind of small jig? My little boy is 20 and he loves the brown fish!
Good job!... will have to give the flying minnow a try next time..lol
How deep were those fish?
Caught a few quite shallow < 8 ft. Most came in 12-15 or so.
I appreciate the info.
