    Taylorsville conditions

Anyone know what the water is like at Taylorsville lake? I figure it has to be up some.

It's up alright ... but, only a little over a foot above Summer Pool as of this morning. That's not the problem, it's pretty dirty and trashy (according to a picture I saw, taken on 3/12 around Settlers Trace).

When you say dirty how dirty would you guess? Like 1ft of viability or less? I'll be there Sunday but I'm just curious! Thanks, Drew

Drew ... the picture showed the water to be BROWN ... probably less than 1 inch of visibility ... but, they did say the water was clearer on up the lake from Settlers Trace, but only a couple of inches of visibility even there.

Just saw another report where some guys cleaned up on some nice Crappie at Taylorsville, even in the muddy conditions. They said the fish were "on the bank" ... but, I don't know if they meant "right against the bank & shallow" or just scattered along the banks they fished. The only real info I got from the report was that the water temps reached 61deg by 3PM (3/15/16)

Today the fishing was HORRIBLE! My father and I couldn't even get a bite for Crappie. We landed ONE six inch Crappie all day.

We did get one keeper bass and a flathead cat though.

I was there Thursday and the lake was actually a bit low in my opinion and yes it was dirty. 1 to 2 inch of visibility but i did see what i assumed to be bass jumping. Caught 2 crappie at 10 ft deep in minnows

Had a good day today! Caught 2 keepers (one 5 and one 3) and a couple short fish as well. Water visibility ranged from 4-8 inches and temperatures were between 53 and 56. Never really found a pattern but we managed to catch a few.

Drew so the water is still pretty muddy? We went last week and it was pretty bad, muddy and trash. Trying see if worth another shot this weekend or find another hole to try. Thanks

I went yesterday and the water cleared up quite a bit on up the lake,
    about half way to Chowning.
    I caught some nice crappie.........finally.
Last week was horrible but they're starting to bite now.
