    Making soft plastic baits

does anyone on here make their own soft plastics in molds? I am looking into doing it with a friend as we can't find the baits we like in the colors we like, so we've decided to look into making our own. I know it's a lot to jump into but it looks like a lot of fun being able to personalize your baits and make them your own. Please message me with any information you have or you can just write on here. Thanks, drew

    Be prepared

to spend some money. What kind of baits are you talking about? I'm getting ready to muself. Getting things needed together now.Nothing cheap about it period as plastisol, molds, glitter. color etc are costly & the only way to make it affordable is to buy plastisol in a pretty large quantity. www.lurepartsonlone & www.baitjunkys.com are good places to check out & the folks there will do anything to help you with any questions you have.

Second lurecraft. They have plenty of molds and other soft plastic bait making stuff. Might check out the molds they have already to get started, then work up to making your own molds. Even if using premade molds, you can change the colors, glitter, scent, to get something closer to the forage in your local waters.

I make 15-20 different lead molds and build and repair rods. It is very addictive.

My buddy and I have always ordered our pouring supplies at bearsbaits.com . As others have said, it's addictive and expensive to get started. It's also time consuming, especially if the baits you like are only available in a single pour/injection mold.
