I'm a novice myself so take this with a grain of salt. I've been picking up a few way back in the creeks. Fishing creek to be exact. Ticket has seemed to be areas where I can get a bait to the larger chunk rock banks through the trees. 1/16 ounce jig head with a Bobby Garland shad. Pearl has seemed to be the best color for me but others are catching them too. Just pitching to the bank ad slowly retrieving it back to the boat. Good luck!!!

Minnow bobber and brush. I use a slip float so I can change depth as the situation dictates. Spring is creek fishing. Fish the headwaters wether it be main lake or creek. Since the 2007 drawdown Cumberland is a new lake. Old reliable secret spots are gone and new places are yet to be discovered. Anywhere the channel runs close to the bank deserves a look. Good luck! And teach someone to fish.

    Made it out today

Caught 5 keepers today few were really big healthy fish. Threw a few fish back just under size. Caught all black crappie on minnows with bobber 3-4 deep close to bank in about 10 ft water. Still learning to fish jigs threw a few colors had one hit on pearl white with chartreuse head. Spent most of time using minnows. We fished from about 1-6pm. May have been better early or later in day. Thanks for the replies.

Fished a couple weeks ago with a buddy and caught about 5 good sized crappie up fishing creek. We were fishing up from PC park where the trees are sticking up out of the water. Fishing live bait about 4-5 ft deep. I also fished last night up by Lee's Ford by the bridge and we pulled some more crappies.

    Wish you luck!
