Help me settle this argument

My buddy and I are arguing, he says that if someone was to release 200 piranha's in Florida they would survive and thrive.. He says that best proof is that it's illegal by law to own Piranha's in FL.

I'm telling him that he's dumb because it gets too cold winter time in Piranha's

He tells me "Python's in everglades blah blah.."

Can a local person hopefully confirm that it's impossible?
