Lake Cumberland Tailwater

Anybody been doing any good lately at the Lake Cumberland Tailwater? Staying at lake Cumberland this weekend and I plan on bank fishing behind the dam. I was hoping to catch some white bass, anybody do any good for them there? I would trout fish there also, but I'm not sure how to go about it or if the trout are biting now.

The white bass make a spawning run in the spring, other than that you will seldom catch one close to the dam. The walleye have been slow, night fishing for them lately. Striper are hit and miss right now. Trout are being caught before they start generating on orange or garlic power bait and pieces of nightcrawlers on the bottom on light line.

I knew they made a run upstream in the spring to spawn, I just thought they might hang around the dam at other times. Do you have any suggestions on white bass in the lake or possibly the river? Are they catching a lot of trout right now?

I caught 15 trout and a striper today.

Do you mind me asking what you caught the trout on? We fished there today for a few hours with rooster tails,etc. but didn't have any luck. Going to try bottom fishing tommorow maybe.
